Now in the middle of the 7th round. I see that Sam's not even on the "best available" lists for RB or WR on espn.com. What do the scouts not like about him?

We probably hurt Sam's draft status because it took us the longest time to figure out how to use him. He's never going to run between the tackles in the NFL. If we'd gotten him into the slot earlier and given him more chance to showcase his talent there, he might have gone in the middle rounds.

FIFY. Seems to me that "we" in the Parliament realized very early on how best to use Sam's talents. It was the pros with the responsibility to do so who took quite a while to come around to that realization.

I was trying to be nice. And if we're going to fix it, we should further note that it was even worse because there were other viable options at running back to free Sam up for the slot.

Sam's vertical acceleration is his greatest talent... plus, he appears to be above average strength-wise. We never showcased these skills. He could be DEVASTATING returning kicks in the pros and perhaps as a 3rd and 5+ back.

He should be plenty of chances - Seattle needs a #2 TE.
