Well, that's my favorite, it's really nice. As much as ecu's fans get on my nerves with their whining, I still like the school, the fans, not so much.
FIU's panther is really good too. He looks like he should be caged.
ODU's lion would look much better without that stupid hat he wears. There's no need for it, everyone knows the lion is the king of beasts.
Tulsa should call themselves the Tornadoes. A hurricane in Oklahoma, now that's crazy. And don't say that it can't change because there's tons of schools that have changed their logos. It would be much more appropriate if you wanted to keep a weather related logo.
I don't know why people like la tech's, it doesn't do anything for me. It's ok, but not great.
As for MT, it doesn't sound good, "Empty" sort of like Ecu's "Easy U". Keep the horse get rid of the lightning and wings or at least incorporate the horse alone into your logos much more than you do now.
ECU hardly uses that logo anymore, that the problem with this thread. We mainly use this one.....
And the Jolly Roger logo

All so, with ECU, it's not a hankie, it the bandana on his head.

RE: CUSA's Best Logo
...as for the conference logos, in order (not including UAB, which is truly one of coolest around...ask Tim Brando) - with some weight given to 'identification' of the program, which, for better or worse, we all kinda need to think about (although UAB almost OVER does it, as the dragon is a bit too small on the current helmet design) - anyway, here goes:
1. ODU - nice color scheme and nice graphics...definitely captures the 'regal' theme
2. FIU - cool panther in the tallgrass (not the M.I.A. Tulsa fan)...they had an older logo with 'golden panthers' on it...it was cool as well
3. USM - eagles are always cool - have always liked the USM style
4. ECU - the 'skull in N.C.' is coolest
5. La Tech - nice 'ID' logo distinctive for the state
6. Tulane - unique 'nickname' reflected well on logo
7. FAU - pretty cool owl, if a bit 'wide'...
8. Marshall - green always works, Herd is a neat mascot
9. UTEP - logo is a bit 'angular', but cool the mountains are there as in El Paso
10. UTSA - not bad, maybe a roadrunner with 'wheelie feet' like on Looney Tunes would be cool
11. Rice - definitely a distinctive logo, but kinda dig the owl logo one of the Rice posters has on here... hey, we have two sets of Owls now! Cool!
12. Tulsa - another unique one with TULSA prominent part of the logo
13. Charlotte - Niners have a nice scheme, and the 'C' helps the ID aspect..not sure why it's so low...
14. North Texas - pretty cool (eagles), but needs 'North Texas' placed in there somewhere
15. MTSU - ok, but may need a bit of 'updating'...horses have gobs of potential for a killer logo (see Denver Broncos)
...not too scientific...honestly, lots of cool ones coming in...

We are the Monarchs. Lions are the king of the jungle.
Yeah I figured that out long ago before I saw a ferocious, roaring lion wearing a goofy crown. I didn't need to see the crown to understand the lion reference. What I don't understand is a horse with wings that sneezes lightning. Actually I do, the horse represents our agricultural department, the wings represent our nationally known Department of Aerospace, and the lightning represents the Mass Communications/Recording Industry departments. It shouldn't be that difficult to explain a mascot. So lose the crown, it's not needed.
Can someone else make sense of this post for me? First he claims that the idea behind ODU's logo is obvious. Then he explains that MTSU's logo is difficult to explain, and he uses this explanation as an argument against the lion's crown. That is one of the dumbest reasoning processes I've ever seen.
We are the ODU Monarchs, not the ODU Lions; hence the crown.

Would you believe I still have that old miner pete on one of my old jackets? My wife told me to get rid of it and I said ok but I just can't. It holds too many memories, the windbreaker looks a little beat up but I still wear it.
