I really think this is going to have a greater positive impact on the Game Day experience at HS than most might think.

Kind of like when I went from the 36" Tube to the 50" HD with surround sound........

How does that size (15.5 ft high and 39.5 ft wide) rank against the rest of the conference?

Not all FBS schools listed but it seems that we are really only passing Buffalo in total SQ feet.

They need to encase those standards with something. I'm hoping this will be the plan.

They will not encase the standards. We are copying Akron's stadium. Go to Akron athletics and you will see the scoreboard. Akron also has ribbon boards and a berm in the end zone. The other end zone has their ftball building and in-door facilite.

So we're Akron II? Wouldn't mind having their new stadium though (with appropriate colors of course).

I would've made it 40x22 which would be the biggest in the MAC and bigger than U of I. You also could advertise that you have the biggest in the state.

Looks like we'll be in the middle of the MAC based on this. I think it will definitely help though. I remember the scoreboard before the current one, and that wasn't all that long ago.

I would just like a slightly smaller version of their skybox.

That is what I based off my photo shop pic for the NIU skybox.

No mention of the berm.

RE: New Scoreboard Info
In times like this its best not to look at what others around us have and just be happy that we are getting a screen twice the size with a better resolution, the sound system and 200 ft of ribbon boards.

RE: New Scoreboard Info
Illinois' old videoboard was installed in 2008 and was 38.5 x 21.5. Looks like we should have just bought that one from them at a discounted price.
