Earl Watford & Draft
App state had two players drafted. You missed S. Martin a P who went to the lions in the 5th round.

RE: Earl Watford & Draft
Congrats to Mr. Watford! Well done and well deserved. Hope he makes a nice run at it.

Watch Taylor Cooper. I think he was a steal there for the NYG.

Nicely done CAA! How does this stack up against some of our possible conf. mates?

every pick graded

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/story...ft-round-4

for Watford...

Grade: B- Athletic, mobile player who can anchor against the bull rush and stay with many interior rushers in pass pro. Level of competition questions, but has the athletic package to push the dubious Chilo Rachal at RG.

Thanks for posting this. Not sure if it changed, but it looks like they gave the pick a B, not a B-.

RE: Earl Watford & Draft
CAA the top I-AA conference for producing OL draft picks the last 4 years (thats as far back as I looked):

2010: 2nd round, 61st overall, Jets, Vladimir Ducasse, T, Umass: 1st I-AA player taken.

2011: 2nd round, 49th overall, Colts, Ben Ijalana, T, Villanova: 1st I-AA player taken.

2012: 3rd round, 98th overall, Ravens, Gino Gradkowski, G, Delaware: 3rd I-AA player taken, 1st I-AA OL.

2013: 4th round, 116th overall, Cardinals, Earl Watford, G, JMU: 5th I-AA player taken, 2nd I-AA OL.

Not only that, but the CAA the last 4 drafts:
Had an OL drafted before the MAC in 2 of 4 drafts.
Had an OL drafted before the WAC in 2 of 3 drafts.
Had an OL drafted before the MTN West in 3 of 4 drafts.
Had an OL drafted before the C-USA in 3 of 4 drafts.
Had an OL drafted before the Sun Belt in each of the last 4 drafts.

Lukewarm reaction from walterfootball.com but the good news is that Earl may have a good chance to be a starter.

Quote:116. Earl Watford, G, James Madison: C+ Grade
This is a slight reach, but the Cardinals are once again targeting a big need area. Arizona had to find two new guards in the 2013 NFL Draft. Earl Watford may be able to start sooner rather than later, but only because of the lack of talent the Cardinals have at the position.

Earl will be successful if he stays healthy. He has the size, agility, intelligence, and that "mean streak" you want in an interior lineman.

If you look at 'Zona's roster, thought I counted 9 guards on their roster the other day, including the two draftees at that position.

Down to 8. Adam Snyder was one of the Arizona Cardinals' big free agent acquisitions last year and was released today.

Edit: 7 they also released Jeremiah Warren.

I don't think Arizona took Earl in the fourth round if they weren't sure they wanted him on the team for at least one season. You can still get decent value in the fourth round.
