Charlotte Spring game attendance
The niners had 13,950 at their spring game. I've seen pictures and their stadium which I believe holds 15K looked about 13,950.

good on them

Very nice start for UNCC.
How close to our St Fran game will these numbers be? No word on IA before then and I fear pretty close.

Yup, def. an encouraging sign for them. That's a good FCS game crowd, let alone a Spring Game. According to SB Nation, that would be the 32nd best attended Spring Game in all of college football- better than Wisconsin, West Virginia and Maryland.

Statewide, NC State had 27k and UNC 15k- Charlotte was better than any of the other schools in the state. I'm impressed.

The UNCC campus is about 3 miles from my home. Their stadium is very nice, well thought out, and very expandable. People are supporting the team very much the way ODU's fan base has.

The leadership at UNCC is in a different class than that at JMU.

It is unfortunate because the roles are reversed when considering alumni.

Exaggerate much? I'm fairly certain we'll announce by then, but even if we don't we'll still have 20k+. But who knows...to you glass 2/3 empty guys maybe that's pretty close...

good for them. i bet if JMU had no football throughout the years, we'd draw quite a bit for our spring game too if we started a new program in the 21st century.

its the initial wave of excitement for starting up the most popular sport in the country.

Oh good, this board is becoming more readable now and seems like a better place for good discussion.

Let's see the attendance after a few losing seasons.

Good for them if they quickly move to winning seasons.

Georgia State started off with 30k plus in attendance. By the end of last year, they had less than 10% of that.

Their first season is filled with a schedule that even makes our 2013 schedule look BCS in comparison. They'll win barring some disastrous start, eg ga state. Odu looks to be their most meaningful game in 2013.
You could say that the awful 2013 schedule isn't going to wow the casual fan, but I guess the promise of future fbs play is enough to convince them to show up anyways.

2000 - not directed at you but this is EXACTLY what many of our posters, the posters that write "readable" thoughts said about ODU two yrs ago....ODU has since kicked our ass 2 for 2 and jumped to a conference that we would love to join...just sayin'

I agree! That's why I added, "Good for them if they quickly move to winning seasons."

At this stage (assuming they feel like ODU alumni felt) they don't give a rip about the schedule, they're just on a cloud about seeing crowds of alumni tailgating back on campus all these sunny Saturdays.

I do wonder how the staying power will be though. Real exciting times down there now though.
