what would putting a pig in the cell do other than sht all over the place? they're not afraid of pigs, they just don't eat them.
They consider them "unclean" and do not like anything to do with them. The British lost a lot of troops in India/Pakistan because of their local recruits were told that their cartridges had pig elements on them.
