New Field
Interesting that we still have the Big East logo on our mock up...I would venture to say this creates more questions than answers regarding field logos in 2013.

The simplest answer is that the mock up was done a few months ago and thus before all of the conference naming issues were resolved.

Do you use that Gothic L for anything else?

Yeah it pops up pretty often but always subtly used.

The feather on the shorts is actually made up of hundreds of the "L's".

RE: New Field
We have a gothic L and and a winged L. If you look close at some these examples, you can see the difference.

Few thoughts on the new field:

1. I love that they went with the Cardinal head at midfield. I was never a big fan of the wing logo and glad to see the university phasing it out.

2. I'm a fan of alternating shades of turf but I can't say I like how they went about it. The 10 yards of dark turf separated by 5 yards of light turf just seems odd to me. Personally, I prefer alternate shading every 5 yards with the middle 10 yards one shade (i.e. something like this).

3. I like colored endzones and I think the black endzones will really pop inside the stadium. I'd get rid of the cardinal heads and make the text bigger though (looks a bit too cluttered).

4. I like the expanding red zone marker along the sidelines. Looks great.
