A cop was in Fantasy Warehouse doing some "Christmas shopping." While he was there a guy tried to rob the place. Cop shoots robber. Robber dies. Cop's name is in the paper.
Hope he was there shopping for his significant other.

Some poor guy from out of town was also shot and killed in his car at Fantasy Warehouse a few years back.

Just another example of the internet putting a hurt on the Mom and Pop shop.

The new owners are from far Southern Italy. Nice guys. Smartly kept the name and the cool neon sign.

We moved to Bartlett in 1979 and Leno's has been there as long as I can remember.

Never been there.

That's the Gold Club. I tried to go once when I had no power after Hurricane Elvis but I was already lit and made a smartass comment to the girl taking cover fees in the lobby. A bouncer appeared out of nowhere and quickly convinced me that it would be in my best interest to leave. The bookstore is a couple miles north on Summer.

The Gold Club took over the old Fantasy Warehouse space about three or four years ago.

That Fantasy Warehouse gave me a couple crazy experiences.

There was a time where I was there with a girl when I was 18 and saw a guy older than me that I know from my old neighborhood. There is a certain awkwardness from running into someone you know in a sleazy place like that. The girl got me to buy edible body paint and lotion that heated when you rubbed it. Imagine my fun when we got back to her place and she would only let me put the edible body paint on her hand and the heating lotion on her arm. And being the naive 18 year old I was, I let her have the stuff. Someone else probably got to have fun with her and that stuff.

Another time years later, I was in there when I saw a gay magazine based in Memphis sitting on the front counter and one of my then co-workers was in a spread on the cover. I had just recently found it he was gay (I think you'd never know it if he didn't tell you) so I wasn't shocked, but I was surprised. But needless to say, it was really weird seeing that.

I've been in the Gold Club once or twice since they renovated. It still looks as crappy as before and to be honest, it'd probably be better if there was a smaller Gold Club and a place there where I can get a girl a bullet!

She told me about you. 04-cheers
