After Davidson announces, I think the CAA will begin to make their next move on inviting two other SoCon members to join. One invite might be a school that sponsors football since JMU will likely be making their move to another conference. The CAA may also solidify their existence by giving invites to Albany and Stony Brook for all sports, or maybe just Stony Brook for now.

At this point, I'm not sure why you would leave the Southern for the CAA.

I think they should join forces. I've always thought of Furman and Wofford as peers of Richmond and W&M. Put the Citadel and VMI (from the BS) in there and you've got a good foundation to work with and who should stick together. Though, it might be hard to get those who wear sweaters to change their OS.

Because the SoCon is losing Georgia Southern, App State, College of Charleston, and now Davidson possibly.
