ACC AAU schools such as UNC,UVA and GA Tech have places to go other than stay in the ACC.The UNC AD is now speaking of gaining a 40% increase in revenue.

FSU,Clemson,Miami,NC St and VA TECH have other places to go to increase their revenue stream.FSU was not in favor of the ACC having a 50 million buyout for leaving.
FSU seems to be talking with the B10 about membership in the B10.The B12 could moving to take in 2 Florida schools at the the suggestion of fox.The ACC increased their membership by taking BE schools such VA TECH,Miami,bc,Syracuse,Pitt and ND,it should be no sprise that other conferences are trying the same to the ACC.

I know it's the dream of any UConn fan to see the ACC implode but UNC, UVA, and GT do not want to go anywhere. All the rumors surrounding them start with someone that hates the ACC as a conference.

Listen to the broadcaster of GaTECH talk about getting out of the ACC .The obvious GA TECH is the B10 and their great tv package.Ga Tech is quite proud oftheir AAU status.Only UVA,Duke and UNC currently have that status.The ACC is not going to implode it will become old BE with Duke and Wake Forest,Maybe UConn ,UC ,USF and UCF.

They've both got more conference titles and Big bowl appearances than UConn. Tulane had more SEC titles than Florida until the 90s and they had been out of the conference for a quarter century.

As for the speculation ND might not want to renew with NBC-its done through 2025 per an NBC press release. Nothing much in other details than the schedule and that NBC Sports Network might be occasionally used.

It was a good theory Terry D. But, I think another angle to improve the revenue of the ACC is about to be forthcoming and could be tied to the current SEC project, we'll see. Anyway the net effect would be long term stability if what I suspect comes to pass.

I wouldn't mind seeing an ACC - SEC football and basketball challenge where every ACC school played one SEC school in football and basketball every year on a rotating basis.

Common sense says that ESPN will do what it takes to enhance the best football conference in America and their new network and will want to hold onto what is sure to be one of, if not the best basketball conference. Such crossover play would help the SEC's RPI in hoops and give the ACC football first schools more marquee games to highlight, especially on a home and home basis.

The thing I suspect is some kind of joint network venture. It could take the form of a bundle, a combined package of channels sold regionally and as a bundle, or as a Southeastern Regional Sports network with a combined footprint. With SEC football marketed in some kind of connection with ACC hoops and with the two conferences both having stellar baseball programs there would be tons of content to make it hum.

True. It would also be great publicity. Although both conferences have a ton of overlap and are based in the southeast, the could be used to expand each other's boundaries. Yes, SEC football is known everywhere and yes, ACC basketball is known everywhere, but some kind of joint/cross-over programming on one or more networks would take things to the next level. It's one thing to be known and loosely followed and it's another to have an actual buzz. Cross-promotions would be huge as it would give the ACC a buzz in TX that it otherwise wouldn't have and the SEC a buzz in the northeast (i.e. NYC) that it otherwise wouldn't have.

Idk if that will take the form of a combo network, cross content on networks, or just a lot of inter-play, but something should happen, and I think that something will happen.

It would also ensure quality fall, winter, and spring programming for both networks.
