The kid lighting up the NCAA finals for Michigan, is the younger brother of former Rocket Stephen Albrecht, who transferred to Brown.

Only two offers,Appalachian State and UM. UM probably figured if ASU wanted him he must be better than whoever UM had based on their football experience.

Michigan almost pulled off a national title with a predominantly Freshman team and not the heralded type of players that UK got when it won last year. McGary only played the last 5 regular season games and Albrecht was a bench player most of the year.

The future looks good for UM MBB---of course for all their success the FAB FIVE was never quite able to grab the brass ring, so who knows?

Freshmen who get extensive playing time are experienced veterans by tournament time---of course it also helps if they do not require years of development before they are deemed able to contribute.
