Nothing against ULL but do we need two teams in Louisiana? From a "basketball" and market perspective I'd like to give Missouri St. a hard look first, especially if we're looking at Ark St.

In that scenario stAte is a shoe in; who is #16?

UTEP fans are against NMSU
La Tech fans are against UL
Many people are against another Texas school - Texas State

Missouri State & JMU?

I know it adds two more FCS programs, but Missouri State strengthens basketball and JMU fits nicely in the eastern side (and has good support)...plus it would piss of App State fans to no end, so that'd be enjoyable to watch.

I'm not wild about adding Ark State because they have a pretty poor basketball program and their athletic budget is pretty terrible. They've had a pretty good run lately, but is it sustainable on a shoestring budget?

If adding two more is to help balance east-west divide then there won't be any more adds in the East.

ASU and NMSU would be 2 good picks...which means Georgia State and USA will get the nod

I'd rather add two west teams because that will put UAB and SoMiss in the EAST.

I would like USM, Rice, UTEP, Marshall, and UAB to have an "airport meeting", break away and form a new conference. Quit with the expanding!

Stay at 14. No reason to make recruiting anymore difficult.

UL and State would be football adds with the recent commitment they are making to the programs and would be decent add in basketball. Markets are important but quality of teams are more important IMO. Look at the bowl attendance for UL this past season and while I know La Tech hates UL....it would make for a damn fun game for the rest of us to watch. Lol

We don't want to be in the East. Then again... nobody has given a crap about Southern Miss so far (see conference realignment and 2013 C-USA scheduling) so we'll likely be stuck over in the East.

No, the 5 remaining members of 2012 CUSA can break away form a new conference, take the NCAA units with them, and get to a sensible 12.

The expansion only makes sense if more teams are leaving. And if that's the case, I hope Rice is out.

No. USM would still end up in the west.

East will be:

Charlotte
ODU
Marshall
MTSU
WKU
FIU
FAU
UAB

You'd either have to split up MTSU and WKU or UAB and USM. I think it is more likely that USM just goes west than WKU and MTSU being split up.

Arkansas State and South Alabama would be my personal two choices.

If TV partners can still guarantee the same payout per school, then its not a big deal, but I don't want 16 if it means less money.

Yeah, USM is stuck in the west unless they leave, or an east team leaves and we add three in the west.

IMO this is a good idea. It makes it difficult for the Sun Belt to survive and creates a great deal of school diversity in the league. It would not surprise me at all if this is the direction the Conf takes.
