If stAte and UL leave, Texas St is seriously isolated.

I want no part of a 16 team CUSA.

Everyone in the west division is already isolated, and then you got people from the east division thinking it would be a great idea to add schools like Weber State and North Dakota State.03-hissyfit

It makes complete sense for stAte and UL to be added. So congrats on the upcoming CUSA invites JMU and Georgia State.

I rather be in a 16 team C-USA than in the New Southland Conference.

Winston, I would certainly welcome UL and ASU being the 15th and 16th members. We are philosophically about the same, and believe we could raise our budgets to an acceptable level in a short period of time.

The problem with the Sun Belt is that we invested many years establishing relationships with some core teams, specifically WKU, UNT, and MT, only to see those vanish. So rather start new relationships I would much prefer to continue with the old ones and I think fans would respond with higher attendance figures and donations to the athletic foundation.

You just can't start over every few years and get ahead. That's the only problem with the new Sun Belt. Plus, we're recycling some of the charter SBC football members. NMSU is OK but we need their basketball and baseball programs more than their football program, and there's no way I'm going to Idaho for a conference game. Our traditional rivals have moved and it would behoove us to move with them.

What makes you think JMU will get a CUSA invite, just trying to see if you are being serious or facetious.

If you read what the commissioner said, I really don't think the moves(if they come) are in the east.

RE: CUSA to Sixteen?
Texas St can go and join their Texas brethern. I'm happy in the SBC but can't pass at joining a conference with other Texas teams. But I doubt we get a shot anyway since they ahve so many Texas teams as it is.

Just tongue-in-cheek in regard to the nature of conference realignment choices.

Thanks! We need you guys to stay so we can have two ASU's in the same conference and two block A's on black helmets! It's such as timeless look don't you think?

I could easily see GSU going actually...

Yes, they are. But would that be enough to derail CUSA from making the two most logical choices for additions?

Could be.
