I say we go after Jordan Neff. (I know its not a transfer guy) Someone post his dunk video. I can't where I am at. He was committed to FGCU and his coach left and he may be willing to go elsewhere.

I still say we get a transfer though.

I say the coaches probably already know what they want to do. It's been obvious for 4 months that this was going to happen so they are not now just looking at a transfer list.

I seem to remember an article from months ago when Haase finished filling out the 2013 recruiting class. Paraphrasing, he said said he and his staff would continue recruiting for the 2013 class because you never know. Hopefully that foresight will pay off soon.

Oh I agree MB. They most likely knew during the season and already have a top 5 or 10 list.

That's just for us to speculate and for message board fodder.

Now we get to play "Guess the transfer"

Even though UAB is a less prestigious basketball program than the other schools recruiting Lennard like N.C. State, they still have a good shot at him. After a couple of years of hard work, UAB’s dedication and constant calling and texting is paying off.

“UAB, they’ve been recruiting me a lot since sophomore year so even though I’m picking up big schools they’re still an option,” he said. “They’re recruiting me the hardest. Rutgers and N.C. State are recruiting me the hardest outside of UAB.”

And because the Blazers have been recruiting him for so long, he has developed the closest relationship with their coaching staff.

“I’d say I have the best relationship with [assistant] coach Rob [Ehsan] and [head] coach [Jerod] Haase at UAB because they’ve been recruiting me the longest since sophomore year,” he added. “They text me every day so I’m really comfortable with them.”

In the article, there is an explanation as to why he may reclassify to 2014.

He's been to 5 schools in 3 years, so I'm sure XCMD wants him even more now.

The Cothron story seems to be similar to our experience with the O'Brien kid in that the NCAA seems to be unable to help a kid who is the victim of a coach's screwup.

This coaching staff seems to target good looking prospects who fit the mold, then go sign them. Filling the recruiting class on the first day of the early signing period was solid as hell. This is revolutionary at UAB of late. I like it.

I think the coaches probably have a guy or two in mind. It's not like there was no discussion of what if Hoopy or KC left or were released here on this board. I imagine they've thought about it by now.

No more O'Briens. I hate how the kid got whipsawed, but something was going on that got that reaction.

I would love to know the full story on OBrien. It's not like he was a great player but because he was unable to play, he became a Jordanesque savior to Blazer fans.

1. I would like to know what caused Martelli's reaction, which in hindsight, I sort of admire that he refused to bow to intense media and puvblic pressure. What was it that gave him that resolve that he couldn't go public with.

2. I want to know whose idea it was for OBrien to go public with the newspaper article? Was it his family or someone at UAB acting behind the scenes. If you remember, Davis and company didn't offer much public opinion on the matter. I think they may have been holding their breath.

It was a very interesting saga that won't probably ever be explained for fear of self incrimination.
