I just emailed Wood, not that I matter or have any pull.

Email Broderick, I agree.......Wood is clearly an egomaniac who will not care at all about our concerns.

We have to go above his head.

Email Broderick and let him know how upset we all are.

Wood would never tell broderick about the emails and the calls better to hit up broderick. He can't deny or hide from the alumni then.

If they are screening the calls, pretend to be optimistic. Then ask real questions on air...

I will always support my university, was just hoping for a bit more to be honest. As a huge admirer of the program, this hiring process did not appear to be handled smoothly. I appreciate your response and will continue to root for our student athletes.

There were far fewer vacant head coaching positions this year than most years.... and this is all he could manage?

Here is the letter that I sent to President Broderick. I am disgusted by this hire - at least Felton carried no "character" issues. Had been OK with Selig's moves to date, but this one stinks in a big way.

President Broderick-

As an alumnus of ODU (BS Chemistry ’88 and MEM ’97), I have been a supporter of the university for many years. When my family moved to Richmond in 2004, we immediately joined the BBC and purchased men’s BB season tickets. That support has continued through the starting of football, and I purchase 10 season tickets annually for our football Monarchs. My family and I have travelled to Peoria, IL (CIT), Cedar Falls, IA (Bracketbuster), Columbia, MO, and Las Vegas (thanksgiving tournament) to support the men’s BB team. It is part of our lifestyle, and has provided fond memories for my wife, two sons, and myself.

This support for Men’s BB ends today. Jeff Jones is a man of demonstrated low character and poor results. He brings no excitement, improved recruiting, or added coaching acumen to the program my family holds so dear. The announced hire of this coach is not well-received by the majority of Monarch fans with whom I routinely converse. In fact, in every forum I can access, the remarks concerning this hire are consistently negative, with the only variable being how emotionally-charged the negativity is . We can and should do better. We have a proud tradition of success and solid fan support. I believe that after today’s announcement, that tradition is in grave jeopardy.

Reading this thread.... Really sad. Our basketball program and our support thereof is dead.

I encourage everyone else to do the same.

If there was ever a time to be proactive, it is now. Or maybe that's reactive......regardless, make your feelings known.

Wood has shamed this University and considering the other "hiring's and firing's" he's made, it is time to seriously reconsider his association with our University.

I have to think Runte would never have let this happen.
