As Pogo said. "we have met the enemy and he is us".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogo_%28comic_strip%29

This new conference looks more and more like C-USA every day. Maybe the "Return of C-USA" would be the best name for this new deal. I can see that soon UCONN and Cincy will find somebody who wants them to join, so they will bolt and then we can invite Southern Miss and Marshall to join our new conference.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I agree with the idea that Conference TBA is becoming the old CUSA, but what is the alternative for additions? Not to mention, the ACC is becoming the old Big East.

what a shell game - all smoke and mirrors...nothing really changed at all.

the only saving grace is being on espn and hopefully that contract sticks.

At least we picked up a good add in Temple. The likelihood of all of the BE3 (UCONN, UC & USF) moving on to another conference is low.

Make no mistake this is not the conference we all thought it would be, but it will no doubt be a step up in competition.

Good to get Tulsa's football program in this conference rather than the MWC. With Boise already over there we'll have enough to deal with in winning a slot in the 6th bowl.

Tulsa has a good basketball history too, or at least it has been a conduit for great coaches.

I don't. The "Eastern Athletic Conference / EAC" (I will call it what I want until it is otherwise named) will have UConn and Navy (in lieu of UAB and Rice), a better footprint (no UTEP) with denser population, better basketball and considerably better revenue, exposure and bowl prospects. Hopefully, also a better name. I always thought "C-USA" sounded retarded.

It's a no-brainer.

We were added for basketball. So we get a pass. But why Tulane was added, it continues to baffle me. It has a tradition of stinking and still stinks. There is just no excuse there.

Not to mention staying behind with Banowsky.

Anything is better that him as a commissioner.

C-USA is becoming the old Sunbelt.

Don't you just know Southern Miss, Marshall and UAB look around and just want to cry?

The great news for USM and UAB is one of those two should easily grab the C-USA BB tourney next March. I'm reasonably sure the C-USA presidents will freeze out Tulsa and Tulane from hosting. UTEP will bid but there's that distance issue again.

Birmingham or Gulfport works.

I suspect MEMPHIS will be headed to Hartford or Philadelphia next March.
