Attalla, Dallas Cowboys / Kevin Ware question...
In all the talk about Ware's injury being the worst since Theismann, wasn't there a Dallas Cowboy receiver that had essentially the same thing happen? It may have even been on Thanksgiving. He was trying to put his foot in-bounds after coming down with a catch and his tibia and fibula both snapped at the same location about mid-shin. I think I read that the bone was protruding but (thankfully for viewers) the Cowboys wear those full-length socks with the blue stripes on top.

He of the helmeted head butt to teammates' fame? This was older than that, though I think it was after 2000.

I remember a C-USA wideout catching a touchdown pass deep in the endzone and catching a halftime prop at shin level. Both side of the shin kept going, the part that struck the stage prop, not so much.

IIRC you might be talking about the Houston WR from a couple of years ago.

I remember when I played at USA original club team in the 80's we had a small RB that we always worried something like that would happen to him & sure enough on a tackle by a Mobile College club player it did.

I can't remember a Cowboy getting hurt anywhere near that bad.
