Hard to believe that Hamrick would just out and out say that Western Kentucky was being added to CUSA.
Think his light bulb isn't working at full capacity?

The C-USA would be a sinking ship if not for perception and name recognition.

Funny, but I believe it's all common knowledge now.

Have you not heard Ga Southern and Appy state are going to surpass everyone. Just ask them they will tell you. I thought the defecting CUSA schools had ego's but not compared to these two fan bases.

Horray... anecdotal evidence.

You might be right if...

UNT
FU's
MUTS
WKU

had stuck together and stayed in the SBC but it didn't happen that way so now most likely the movement of SBC teams set this conference back to early 2000's years in football and has bottomed out the basketball side of the SBC.

Not saying the SBC can't catch up in football but it will not be as quick as the newbie's want to believe. It could happen quick but I honestly don't see the SBC getting back to where it was in 2012 for at least 3 to 5 years.

I kind of agree. I think if MTSU and WKU would have stuck around the SBC would have been better off. Now it's a crapshoot.

Yet not a single SBC team has turned down an invite to C-USA.

What does that make the Sun Belt? A coral reef?

Southern Miss posters mainly say they do not want to be in C-USA, so why don't you change over to the dark side and it would ensure that the Sun Belt is better than C-USA for years.

Southern Miss fans seem split on the idea so far as I can tell, but let's be clear, wanting out of CUSA and wanting into the Sun Belt are not the same thing.

This piece was written by Mitch Vingle. Better known to Marshall fans Vingleberry. He is a WVU beat writer, and has his head so far up their rear he sees nothing but Bluw And Yeller. I can almost gaurentee you that he has used writers leeway in this article. I in no way believe Hamrick told Vingle straight up that WKU was on their way to CUSA.

Usually when you quote someone it's a little more accurate than a non-quote that's when your writers leeway usually takes place.

Why would we leave C-USA for the SBC?

I want out of C-USA as bad as anyone, but only to something like the Big XII or Aresco League (maybe). The SBC offers USM nothing, besides we can bring any Sun Belt team we please to us instead of going to them.

Ever SBC school offered has accepted so far, and everyone left would accept if offered this week (despite the claims of some on this board).

Trust me this guy is not a journalist. He is a propaganda arm for WVU. The only time he isn't propping WVU up is when there is nothing going on up there. Since there was no spring practice going on or no baseball game or rifle meet he had to write about something. Its usually a backhanded slap at Marshall, hince the title "Marshall Better Off In MAC". And this wouldn't be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time "misquoting" someone in "Huntington".

Now those departing schools are in an unstable league, and so are the remaining SBC members. Had they stuck around, we would have all been in a stable league, and C-USA would have been scrambling for even more FCS move-ups and start-up programs.

What could have been...

RE: oops from Marshall's AD
I'd say that C-USA is stable in a sense. It is not going to fold as a conference. It is true that if no one had left, the Sun Belt would be stable. However, I don't think you can fault any program from moving. There is a perceived pecking order and Sun Belt is < C-USA < C-TBA (formerly Big East). I know that there is a real difference in basketball between C-USA and the Sun Belt, and that is the biggest reason that I am for WKU joining.
