We need fewer rather than masses in major CFB.

THANK YOU.

When the SBC was founded, I really thought it cheapened FBS and threatened the reputation and standing of LEGIT but non-AQ programs like USM. FBS should be for programs that are big time, or aspire to be. All of these SBC or ex-SBC programs with AAA baseball - type stadiums and revenue models have ruined FBS, and now they're ruining CUSA.

How do you know the SBC programs don't aspire to be big-time? To be big-time you have to overcome obstacles in the college football landscape. Just like the obstacles that keep USM in the CUSA but Tulane in the new CUSA.

Eventually the Power 4/5 will become their own official division in FBS which will solve a lot of problems.

The Go5 will have all the bowls and money they can command and their own playoff.

ALL high-majors or mid-majors are going to have to make a decision in the coming 5 years:

Am I going to invest TONS of money to become big and play with the big kids, or am I happy in my current setup (and my current smaller establishment)?

It's go big or go home time. TCU and Louisville went big. Cincy and UConn will likely follow. The other mid-majors will have SERIOUS questions in the near future. It'll be fun to watch who guns for the "upgrade" and who doesn't.

I disagree. Even under the old BCS system football at the bottom of the FBS food chain improved much more than it did at the top, and money spent had nothing to do with it.

The new playoff system does nothing to hurt those teams and in fact helps, because everyone now knows how much money is on the table.

That is why there is now great interest by the better FCS programs in joining the party, and the big boys do not care, and will let the G5 alone.

Do know for a fact that the nBE and CUSA wish they had a restart button.
