RE: We expect WKU to be invited but why is Sun Belt expecting to lose 2 ?
Ohio would be awesome. WKU and Ohio after that...meh...Louisiana? Sure. Temple? Doubtful, but I'm on board. James Madison? One of the better overall athletic programs of the soon to be or rumored to be soon to be FBS programs, dicey but sure. USA? Yes. Texas State? A bit of an unknown(as least to me) but better than some. Arkansas State...meh..."howl yeah!"?...their football is great right now, if I was confident it would stay great, I'd be on board no question. I think they might be building something there, but I'd like to see a coach hang around before I can truly get on board. I'm not saying Bryan Harsin wasn't a great hire on paper, but the odds that they continue to hit on hire and after hire are slim. What if Harsin can't keep up? Or maybe after he moves on after one season, the next hire will be a miss? Arkansas State's overall program has been good, not great. If they were added I wouldn't be upset, but they probably just scrape by in my book, last of the schools I could truly get on board with.

Yes. From I heard they voted and where only one vote shy of going in the direction. There as only one more vote in favor of staying put in the MAC than those in favor of dropping back down.
I imagine dropping back down would be difficult to do would it not. Woulnd't they have to pay a buyout which would stupid when you just moved up.
no buy out because you are not leaving the conference. the conference may decide to kick them out because they no longer play football but in that case its the conference making the move so buyouts do not apply.

In 1997 we rejoined the MAC, proceeded to dominate it, and then joined CUSA in 2005. There is way too much bad blood on both sides for Marshall to ever go back to that league.
Marshall is also a southern school. Our largest alumni bases are in the Carolinas, Virginia, Florida. Marshall has more institutionally in common with CUSA schools than MAC schools. I personally love playing Ohio and am looking forward to the Miami game this year. We can play the schools we want OOC.
You're too kind to them. I like playing Ohio, but Miami and the rest can go suck hind teet for all I care. Their Elitist attitude towards Marshall and terrible locations their schools are located and pitiful fan support is more than enough to keep me from ever wanting to be associated with that lot.
