RE: Womens golf
Terrible start except for Ha who is 1-under today. Looks like we have played ourselves out of it.

Jackie Yanch, has stepped it up big time today, +1 through 15 holes, but Hawe/Goodson aren't playing to well today thus far.

RE: Womens golf
Finished in a three way tie for 12th. Still much better than it looked early in the season.

RE: Womens golf
I wonder if Ha will go to the championship as an individual? Not sure how many who are not on a qualifying team get an invite.

RE: Womens golf
Even though she finished 8th, she was only behind one girl from Georgia among the teams who did not qualify. Excellent! That will be a great experience for her.

RE: Womens golf
Congrats to Jennifer Ha, only a sophmore for making it to the NCAA Finals as an individual. KSU returns their top 4 in the lineup from this year, 2 freshmen who didn't see much action, & the 3 recruits shown below, unless they don't come to KSU because Mike Morrow is no longer the coach.

Women’s Golf Signs Three to NLIs
India's Phadke joins Ohio preps DiPietro and Mullins as additions for Kent State's 2013-14 academic year
KENT, Ohio – Kent State women's golf head coach Mike Morrow announced today (Nov. 21) the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent.

MacKenzie DiPietro (North Canton, Ohio), Maddy Mullins (Sandusky, Ohio) and Raksha Phadke (Pune, India) have signed NLIs with the Golden Flashes and will enroll at Kent State for the 2013-14 academic year.

"We are excited to add MacKenzie, Maddy and Raksha to our program," Morrow said. "As a group, they are truly student-athletes, and they will bring both quality and depth to our program."

DiPietro, a two-sport standout, garnered first-team all-state accolades as a senior after finishing third at the 2012 OHSAA Division I state championship. DiPietro, who also was named a second-team all-state performer as a golfer in 2011, aided Hoover's softball squad to back-to-back state titles in 2011 and 2012.

Mullins captured the 2012 OHSAA Division II individual state title and led her prep squad, Sandusky Perkins, to the team title thanks to an even-par 72 to start the two-day event this past fall. Mullins was a two-time sectional and two-time all-state honoree as a prep.

Phadke is coming off a summer that included a tie for 24th place finish at the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships in July. Phadke also was a winner on the Nick Faldo Series and took second at the 2011 Northern India Junior.

I would think Rob Wakeling is the heir apparent for the men's team. He has a big role already.

Jennifer Ha playing this week at the NCAA Championships. For some dumb reason, I thought it started today, but it started yesterday.

Jennifer shot 79/+7 in her first round. She plays again this afternoon.

RE: Womens golf
She shot -2 the second day and went from something like 110th in a 126 women field to 59T. Looks like she got the first round jitters out of the way. She tees off around 8:30 today. Two more rounds like yesterday would be good.

RE: Womens golf
What was amazing about the second round was that she started the day bogey-bogey, then she started piling up birdies. Great comeback.

She ended up +8 and is T100th. Most of the players around her are also completed so she won't move up too much as other players finish up.

RE: Womens golf
With one round to go USC is 17 strokes ahead of second place Duke and 28 strokes ahead of a trio of third place teams. They are dominating the country like we dominate the MAC. Pretty amazing.
