Friday, Sept. 6 @Barranquilla, Colombia - 15h:30 - Ecuador vs. Colombia. Tough match. We went thru the painful, unexpected death and loss of 'Chucho' Benitez the end of July. I expect Ecuador will come full out against Colombia and Bolivia in memory of 'Chucho'. Hopefully we can get 4 pts. out of these next two matches, (a tie in Barranquilla and a win in La Paz). 6 pts. would be fabulous. 0 would spell trouble with Uruguay and Chile our last two qualifying matches.

Ha, Plain Tiger, for your disdain for the "Pura Vida"'s. Even though the news releases say we " Cayó con las botas puestas", (we went down with our boots on), if we don't deliver the goods and get a solid win in La Paz, we might as well "tirar la toalla".

La Paz is tough even without the altitude. Good luck to y'all.

Worst case Ecuador ends up in the playoff with Uzbekistan or Jordan. Ecuador wins that, no problem. Ecuador will be in the WC.

Don't sleep on Uzbekistan. They have some talent especially on the wings. Their CM and back line are ripe for the taking though.
