The Blazer Award goes to the player that goes the extra mile to improve his game...the hardest worker in practice, in the gym, on his own etc.

MVP is obviously the most valuable player as voted on by the players and coaching staff, from not only a game standpoint, but also as a team leader.

A note on Karl. Coach Haase awarded him a scholarship for his last semester and was no longer a "walk-on" during the latter part of the season.

That's all the awards that were handed out tonight.

A little Google research and I can't find any mention of the C arlos Williams award since 2006, so it must have died out after Anderson left. It was an award for the player with the best attitude and dedication. Looks like Mo Finley won it in 2003, Marvette McDonald in 2005 and Richard Jones in 2006.

Too bad. It was a nice way to honor a great Blazer

I didn't know there was a banquet. Was it open to the public?

So ALL awards are now in the name of Carlos, or none?

This is an important question, since it is a long drive to Houston and must be sure an ass there needs kicking before I depart.

I thought Rob Williams might win defensive player award.

He also won the "most likely to get a guy to commit by taking him to the cheesecake factory" award.

I don't know. I couldn't find anything about any awards during the Davis years.

Maybe they were all given to Buck Johnson.
