From a recent article, Roy Williams, the North Carolina coach, who
had traditionally played a similar game to Steve in that he liked to feature his big men and play an inside out game, but he changed his philosophy this season and although they lost to Kansas the other day, had a great year with a lineup of four guards and one big man.

I've always thought we'd be better off utilizing that type of lineup.
Think of Hagins, Gillon, Osse, Isler and Will in a starting lineup. That would give us good quickness and all pretty good shooters. It won't happen because Steve never changes his system. No matter whether we have any decent inside players or not, he insists on playing that type of game. But if he were to change, since it's a lot easier to find good smaller players than big players, it would probably be a more fun game to watch. Will gets most of our rebounds anyway, and Isler and Osse are good rebounders for guards. Plus nearly everyone on the floor could create their own shots.04-cheers

I don't know what kind of big North Carolina has in their lineup, but there isn't any big brut in that lineup of ours. Will is tall, but he's no game changer in that respect. We've discussed that before. Doesn't have enough lead in his britches to be dominant in that position.

That leaves out James White.

Carolina fans didn't consider this a great year, not even a good one.

With the sort of talent Carolina gets, if they don't make the Final Four, they ought to consider it a bad year.
