George Mason heading to the A-10
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketba...o-the-a-10

George Mason is heading to the Atlantic 10.

The league will lose Xavier and Butler next season to the new Big East, will also see Temple depart for the old Big East, and could also watch Dayton and Saint Louis bolt the following season.

Sources told CBSSports.com that George Mason and the A-10 will make a dual announcement on Monday.

George Mason went to the Final Four in 2006 after pulling the upset over UConn. Paul Hewitt replaced Jim Larranaga two years ago and the team was 19-14 this season and 10-8 in CAA play.

RE: George Mason heading to the A-10
I look for them to raid the America East and get all of those football-only schools (Albany, New Hampshire, Maine, and Stony Brook) to join up for all sports. That's about the only way I can see them keeping Northeastern and Hofstra, and if those two go and the CAA can't replace them, the league is in serious trouble.

I'd say JMU, William & Mary, and Delaware all need to start exploring their options.

Read a rumor on the Davidson board that the A-10 might be targeting Davidson and Siena. I don't know how true those rumors are and if Davidson would make the move. However, it would be a huge blow to Socon basketball if Davidson does make the move.

If the money is right Davidson would be absolutely moronic not to go, but the money has to be right to cover the additional travel.
