RE: Navy AD confirms Navy to keep home game contract
My primary interest on this board today is the same as it has been 20 years ago, a strong competitive conference for Tulsa accompanied by a good dose of stability. After many decades, TU found it finally in CUSA where TU's athletic program blossomed.

I regard the Nbe/A12 as wasted time, effort, and energy. Nbe distracted the NonAQ teams and conferences at a time of both opportunities and challenges being put in front of it by BCS. One questions whether any action by any NonAQ conference would be successful. But if NonAQ world is to have a better situation, a more equitable situation, then the NonAQ must present a united cooperative and coordinated front in the arena of public opinion, the only hope that NonAQ world will obtain a better situation regarding the playoff and BCS bowls.

Instead, all NonAQ teams and conferences were left behind again, further behind, by BCS in its "expanded" playoff format and BCS bowls. The Nbe effort completely failed. The biggest troll or flame is the measly $1.8M per Nbe school tv contract and the losing of the Champs, Charlotte, and Pinstripe Bowls. It is just as the Good Witch of the West told Dorothy of Kansas: "You had to learn it by yourself! There is no place like home!"

The "guaranteed" NonAQ spot in the BCS bowl is basically a guaranteed seat on the sideline, while the 4 team national playoff takes place. Basically, BCS has open up 2 more slots for itself in the 4 team BCS playoff and also 1 more BCS bowl spot. BCS combined the BE AQ slot with the NonAQ slot that Boise and TCU took advantage of into 1 spot, that is, reduced 2 spots to 1 spot.

There are 4 playoff spots and 4 BCS bowls, a total of 12 teams will be participating. So NonAQ world, half of IA football, gets 1 out of 12 spots? BCS got away with this because Nbe was screwing around on a hopeless goal and the NonAQ conferences got consumed in self protection.

Now for ApexPirate's question: "Why do you hateful vendetta Tallgrass keep making all these negative posts?" My response is the question answers itself. No Nbe/A12 fan will admit or post on this board the problems and failures of the Nbe. Egos just won't permit that...and, most unfortunately, won't allow Nbe leadership to cooperate with CUSA, MAC, SBC, and MWC. So, I (and others too) put the link on this board and endure the wrath.

As my business trainer used to say, "If you lose, at least don't lose the lesson."

If the NonAQ conferences cooperated and coordinated with each other, maybe we could have more days like this one:

If you don't like the nBE because it won't work with the SB, C-USA, MAC and MWC can you at least provide an example of where those conferences wanted to work with the nBE on something anf they refused? Please, for the sake of making this conversation legit, limit your examples to the current nBE with the membership it has now. Otherwise, that other nBE is gone and there is nothing left to hate.

Also, it isn't the nBE's fault the non-AQs are where they are today. The nBE shouldn't be rhe scapegoat nor is their TV contract trolling in any way. As I've said before, this collection of schools are not the Big East that so many loved to hate just a year ago. Different group but the same group you said had lots of opportunities under a different banner. The banner means zero. It is not as important as the teams under it.

CUSA, along with the MWC and other NonAQ conferences voted for and supported the BCS proposals regarding the 4 team playoff and 4 BCS Bowls, a vote roundly protested by Nbe. Why did the 4 NonAQ conferences support BCS? It was self preservation to get rid of the BCS moniker....and hopefully stop the Nbe raiding of other NonAQ conferences.
