OT: I've tried so hard with Gonzaga
I just loved the idea of a tiny school located in the middle of nowhere from a lowly conference competing with the big boys but they have got to start coming through in the Tournament. They've failed to reach the Sweet 16 every year except two in the last 12 seasons (since their third straight run in 2001).

LOL at Wichita taking out programs that know how to rack up wins in the regular season and get high seeds only to fold them away.

I've tried to get behind the Zags but they don't even give you much of a chance in March.

Gonzaga should've lost to Southern. They had absolutely no business being a 1 seed.

No, their 1-seed was legit (based off what they earned relative to everyone else, not how good they were) but you could just see this coming. I guess they can say they're better than UNM, which has never been to a Sweet 16.

The Zags are like the Bagwell/Biggio Astros though, good teams but early underwealming playoff exits.

Does anyone know what the violation on stockton was, inbounding with a couple of minutes left after a made free throw? I can't figure out what he did wrong? It was a 1 pt game atvthat point.

RE: OT: I've tried so hard with Gonzaga
It was essentially a travel.

+ The ball went through the hoop.

+ The official grabbed the ball and set it to the side. At that point, another Zag - I don't know who - quickly grabbed the ball from the official - while out of bounds - with the intention of making the inbound pass.

+ At that point Stockton called for the ball and the teammate complied - passing it to him.

+ Stockton was oblivious to the fact that he was receiving an inbound pass. He did not realize that his teammate had taken the ball from the official under his own hoop and thought that he was the inbounder.

+ When Stockton received the ball, he stepped out of bounds (to make the inbound pass), thus causing the violation.

It's much ado about nothing, IMHO. Wichita State outplayed Gonzaga all night long and looked like the stronger team.

I'm not going to kill Gonzaga. Wichita shot the lights out. Sometimes another team just plays brilliantly. That is what the Shockers did last night.

Although Gonzaga likely is not as good as some thought they were, we cannot draw too many conclusions from 2 games. Kansas had problems with 16th seeded Western Kentucky and Indiana barely escaped Temple. A lot of high seeds look silly this time of year. It's hard to invalidate an entire season based on one game.
