Giant killers, Rogers Rams Play Tonight for State Title
Congratulations to the Rogers Rams who handed Walnut Hill their first loss to an Ohio high school team and just their second loss of the season, 58-51 in the Division I semi-final. The Rams take on eighth-ranked Mentor (24-5) in the state championship game. Mentor advanced by upsetting top-ranked, previously unbeaten Columbus Northland 80-69 in the other semifinal. Game time is 8:30 pm (ET) and is on STO, even in NM!

GO R-A-M-S!!!

Don't follow HS ball much but its always exciting to see Toledo schools do well. My daughter played tennis against Rogers every year and their coach lived near us. Plus I remember high jumping against various Popes (the new guy wasn't one of them- these were more secular Popes) from Rogers in HS. So its almost like I went there. Go Rams!

Mentor gets in beating an undefeated Columbus Northland, who beat Rogers by 2 in the first game of the year. Of course, Toledo high school fans remember Mentor from football season and they produced last year's Mr. Basketball. They light it up from outside. Now that the sting of regular season and play-off wins or loses is wearing off, everyone seems to be rallying to Rogers. Great thing!!

Wish I had cable.

I imagine that lots of bars/clubs in Toledo will be carrying the game.

Too little, too late. Rogers can't hit their dang free throws and they're missing too many layups down the stretch.

Hell of a run by Rogers. After seeing an epic game between Whitmer and Central earlier this season, I talked with some people about how tough the district was going to be with Whitmer, Central, SJ, and Rogers. I never would have guessed that Rogers would be the victorious team and make it all the way to the final game. Great run and it's too bad they came up just short.
