RE: Kazemi Article
Chronicle coverage of Rice has been perfunctory for decades. I have no reason to believe that would change regardless. If they aren't interested, they aren't interested.

Not necessarily true. If our AD actually communicated and we were consistent in FB and MBB, I think our press presence would increase significantly.
Well, back in early 2009, we had CDC, who communicated a ton, and we just had the best season for football in quite some time, making our 2nd bowl game in the last 3 years. And the Chronicle still cut the guy who had our beat down to a science in MK. So, not so sure about that assessment.
The Rice beat is never going to be a moneymaker for the Chronicle.

Rice does have a small audience, which is why the Rice beat is likely oft neglected. At the same time, we had a lot of people show up for that 2008 bowl, including several people who had no affiliation with Rice. I think if we had continued this success our fan base would grow, leading to better press coverage.
On the flip side, you might be right and they won't cover us. In which case, we need to do what we need to do and find other ways to get press. Not ideal, but it is what it is.

I think we can agree it might not be publicized, but that it would be handled, right?

BTW, why is he considered a RS Freshman and not a SO/TR?
You're considering Seventeen to be a reputable source for accuracy? He didn't set a school record for assists last year either (it might have been one for freshmen but that would have been it).
I posted the article because I thought that it was funny that he transferred and this where he landed (in a teenage magazine). As for my question, I got that information from the Villanova website.

RE: Kazemi Article
Kazemi playing now on TBS vs OK St--- 10 points & 9 rebounds 1st half!!
Getting lots of love from announcers with several Rice references.
I find myself rooting for him, almost as if he were still at Rice. However, I must say that his offensive game still based on hustling around the basket. Anyway, I wish him well!!
