There have been 40 games played as of 4:30PM on Sunday and the HOME TEAM has won 31! that's a 78% win percentage compared to 63% home court win percentage in the regular season. Seems like if you can win the home court bidding contest the rest is easy.
Does anyone know the bidding procedure? Is it blind bidding or auction?
I don't know, but I know the NCAA likes to have womens teams play at home during tournament, because otherwise attendance would be atrocious. That's how some teams get to play at home even though they are a lower seed.
I understand the financial constraints which both the NCAA and WNIT are working with. But it does compromise the competitive relevance of the tournament.
I agree. I don't know what the prices of tickets are for women's NCAA tournament games, but I bet they aint cheap. For the NCAA hockey regional in Toledo this coming weekend, the tickets are $75 (I believe for the entire weekend - 2 semi-finals on Saturday, and the finals on Sunday)! But still, $75 is a lot! If they were cheaper, and you could buy them for just Saturday or Sunday, I would think about going.

We paid $15 per session at BG last year for the first round games.

Wow, those actually seem reasonable. I'm surprised.

Obviously no need to post the Illini score here. In other games -
Florida defeated Winthrop 85-53
Kansas State defeated Illinois State 57-48
Utah beat San Diego 61-50
No WNIT games on Tuesday.

It will be awesome if Mac wins three games tonight. It would tell everybody associated with ncaa wbbl how screwed up their rankings and SOS and rpi are. Even one team in elite eight would speak volumes. What would really awesome is for ball st to win. We would be home and could watch their coach working the refs the whole game again
