Five teams to keep an eye on-
http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketb...d%3D284998

Memphis Tigers (No. 6 seed, Midwest)

Let’s put this out there right now: The Tigers are better than their NCAA Tournament resume suggests. They beat just one RPI top 50 team all season (though they upended Southern Miss three times). These Tigers are as talented as just about any club in the NCAA field. They have high-major athletes—and plenty of them—and veteran players who should be motivated for an extended NCAA run.

Why they’re dangerous: The Tigers have a chip on their shoulder. All they’ve done in league play is win basketball games—they went 16-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the conference tournament—but all they’ve heard is how winning Conference USA games isn’t an accomplishment. We all know how athletes love to play the “nobody believed in us” card, and any little thing that might provide a positive source of team unity during the tournament is a good thing. Plus, they have Joe Jackson and Chris Crawford and Tarik Black and Adonis Thomas and Shaq Goodwin and D.J. Stephens and Geron Johnson—that’s a collection of talent most opponents can’t match.

Keep an eye on: Johnson. The 6-3 junior isn’t the most consistent scorer, but he might be the most explosive on the team—the type of player capable of erasing double-digit deficits singlehandedly or building insurmountable leads in the span of just a few possessions. He’s been at 13 points or above 12 times this season, but held to eight or fewer 14 times. You get the point.

They want to be right first so when we steamroll into the elite 8 they can claim they knew it all along 04-rock

We're getting a lot of support from TV analysts tonight, including some unlikely sources. Jay Bilas said we didn't beat anybody, but he says we still have the athletes to make a deep run.

Not everybody likes us, though. On ESPN Insider, the second and third highest percentage upsets in the Round of 64 are St. Mary's over Memphis at a 67.5% chance, and MTSU over Memphis, at a 53.2% chance. Minnesota over UCLA is first at 74.0%.

I still remember the Memphis v. Michigan St. predictions in 2008.

How sweet it was. Drove there all night from vacation in Colorado on the spur of the moment. Surrounded by completely stunned and speechless MSU fans. I'll never forget it.

Pre-game smack is irrelevant, post-game smack is unnecessary. It comes down to the teams.

Leaving the stadium you can't help but make eye contact with people. The Texas fans would look at you with an "oh ****" look on their faces. If you hadn't seen us play that year and went by what you heard from the talking heads to form your opinion and then see what we did to Michigan State, it's no wonder they had that look. They had no idea.

Walking into Reliant, I was holding the door for an elderly couple when this highly fashionable Fongwhorn-tupe walks by and pipes up with some typical Teasip quip about too bad we were about to lose to the real UT, to which the lady replied, "REAL UT???? Son, Tennessee had universities fifty years before you were even a STATE!" Sure wish we could have found that little Ralph Lauren model after the game.

I got a few people around me to alter, "I'm so glad I go to U of M", instead to say, "I'm so glad....the Longwhorns lost this game!"
