RE: New Iowa Football Facilities
The best facilities in college football won't help them evaluate talent better or recruit Florida better. Iowa has pretty much pulled completely out of Florida recruiting which means they will have to recruit extremely well within their region to be competitive and keep the players they sign which hasn't happened latelyt

RE: New Iowa Football Facilities
I have always kind of thought as Iowa as similar to NIU in they way they progressed and the way they are relative to their entire conference. They are kind of out on their own, them and Minnesota were for awhile and they don't have the traditional talent rich states of Michigan and Ohio. They've recruited hard in Penn, Ferentz's area, and developed talent. I don't know for sure but I would bet their recruiting classes would generally be ranked low in the BigTen. They have done a great job at coaching up and evaluating the right talent for their systems. Like I said, sort of the way we've gained our success, relatively.

Could we have a moratorium on Iowa talk for the next 120 days?

Other than being about 10,000 sf larger, is there really anything different? A few more TV's perhaps?

The building, no. Who uses it, yes.

Theirs is only for FB players instead of ours which is used for all of our student athletes.

Though I bet its safe to say that the NIU football team gets priority for scheduling what they want when they want it.

Watch out there, that sounds awfully close to something someone at the Northern Star would say. 05-stirthepot

Who cares? These are privately funded buildings.

THe new Iowa one is 72,000 sf and the Yordon Center is 62,000 sf. It looks like they will also have an indoor practice facility but I am not sure how ours and theirs will compare. Looks like the Iowa indoor practice facility is 100 yards. Looks like it is going to be similar to ours once ours is built but the exterior looks boring/bad. Hopefully ours looks better.

In the link they have the Iowa schedule showing all the ranked teams. Nice to see NIU ranked 22.

So, I was at the UC last night for the Big Ten/Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen/Whatever they're called games last night. Don't hate me - free ticket to 100 level suite. Not that we need reminding, but man are the Iowa fans obnoxious.

They were hilarious at the NU game bitching that the stadium concourses weren't wide enough for their motor home sized a$$e$ and that they had to wait in line for food and bathrooms while their football team was getting pounded into the ground. 03-lmfao

I expect the Huskies to win handily, the 13 Iowa team will not even be as good as 12's was

I guess we can't expect much more from smelly, rube pig farmers. Maturity and civility stop at the Iowa borders.

P.S. No one should hate you for going to a basketball game. If we had a team at NIU, I'm sure you'd go to one of our games.
