I don't understand this new Policy.
So if someone calls me Rod they get warned? Or in the case of the ONE poster I sometimes call by name he has never attempted to hide his name, has posted his name on several occassions and linked articles he has online written under his name. I think you need to clarify the rule a bit more. That blanket statement is way way to broad.
EDIT I sometimes use First name of a well known poster but never last name. Clarify please.
Do I have to change my nickname now I guess? lol

RE: I don't understand this new Policy.
I generally agree with the policy, because even if I identify myself privately to one poster that doesnt mean that I want everyone knowing who I am.
Having said that, I also agree with you (I guess I have to refer to you by "Rodshaw", instead of "Rod") that the policy is too broad. I think if a person, such as Pitt, that never hides his identity and almost everyone who has followed this board for any length of time- nobody should be punished for using his name.

RE: I don't understand this new Policy.
If you call someone by their birth name, you get a warning. If your name is listed as your username on this site, that's a different story.
And a poster that has said they don't care if their real name is mentioned, has private messaged me multiple times and said they don't want their real name used.
FYI, there are other people besides the one you are thinking of that have had their named mentioned, and don't want it mentioned.

Please reread that bolded section, it makes no sense, the 2nd part contradicts the 1st part, they don't care if their real name is mentioned, but doesn't want it used. Gotcha.
BTW if you don't grasp you left your post way to broad then I can't really help you.

RE: I don't understand this new Policy.
It does contradict itself doesn't it. That's exactly what happened. A person that said they didn't care if their name was mentioned in multiple threads, really does care that it is mentioned and wants their name removed. I have received private messages from them saying REMOVE MY NAME.

RE: I don't understand this new Policy.
Well all I know is if I accidently mention the former frontman of the Funky Bunch by name and get a warning I will be uber pissed since he has done everything short of listing his posts on this website as part of his resume. The easiest thing to do would be to cut out the cancer
but oh well lets dance around it instead.
