1. Thanks for all the good comments from Golden Eagle fans. It was an epic game that will be discussed for years.

2. Hardest game of the year and best defensive game by both teams that I've seen played in years.

I've had my say in multiple other threads about the last shot. Most folks would know where I stood on something like that without any comment from me anyway.

I have said long and loud that I want USM in our new conference with us.
Tulsa makes for longer travel...and I think USM has done way more football and basketball wise to deserve being with us in a new league.
Best of luck to yall until we meet up again. (Shouldn't be too long with your current basketball coach...and new football coach.)

Thanks for the endorsement of USM, however, I have caught it from XeagleX about responding to political statements posted by conservatives on this board. I frankly wish you would get rid of that stupidity and since I don't want to offend XeagleX I won't tell you how stupid your statement is, just tell you I certainly find it offensive and doesn't belong here.

Congratulations Memphis. You took our best shot and won a thriller. My heart hurts for my team and school but the Eagle Nation is nothing but proud. Best of luck to the Tigers in the NCAA tournament.

I've lived it as well, being robbed by a bank which had full bipartisan support amongst both parties.

As a result, I am neither a liberal nor a conservative.

RE: Great Game Tigers
Congrats Memphis! USM played a great game that was very entertaining. We were setting by some Marshall and Memphis fans. The Marshall fans were right behind the Memphis bench and were giving them some great catcalls. Josh finally responded to them at the end of the game "about not betting on the point spread". I think it was all in fun. Memphis fans were great. I just wish more people in Tulsa would have bought a ticket. Besides Memphis having a great BB team, the pom pom girls were great. Best of luck to Memphis in NCAA. Best of luck to USM

I didn't get here Saturday to post, but it was a good game. If we'd hit a few of those free throws it could've been a different outcome. We shouldn't be upset, those boys played their hearts out. I hope they play that hard in the NIT.

I had sigs turned off for a couple of years and decided to turn them back on a month or so ago. That lasted about a week before I turned them off. I read and hear enough hate messages without having everyone's enemy list waved in my face on every third or fourth post.

I think there was a time when people could put right wing statements into their signatures and take for granted that everyone on a sports site would agree. Those days are over. I used to be a conservative. I was a registered Republican. I subscribed to National Review, American Spectator, etc. George W. Bush cured me of all that. While he never really practiced any aspect of conservatism, he did show us what people who make conservative arguments during an election do afterwards.

I don't want to start a long political discussion, but your description of "W" is right on target.

Hey - back on subject great game Tigers! Growing up there, this really sucks that this may be the last year you get to play USM now that the conference transition is taking place. Good luck going forward, and we will certainly miss playing you. Our football schedule will look weird without that game on it for me to plan a trip to see Mom guaranteed every other year. Guess she's going to be traveling to Florida more often now.

I'll be back in Memphis visiting my Mom in April for the baseball series and I need to know if I'm going to have any problem sucking down a few beers tailgating with some old high school friends before the game. Besides being 40 years old, is there any problem with setting up beside the car before the baseball game on Sunday afternoon with a cup and a cooler in the car with mom (60+)? How is the tailgating scene for Memphis baseball at the new Park Ave. Campus stadium?
