Anybody else see the flop by the Southern Miss player in regulation for an "elbow"?

It's odd how the only good CSA championship games are the years the conference is breaking up.

2005 Memphis vs Louisville was the last great game.

If Memphis. Could hit free throws, they would be the greatest team ever. Has cost them so much over the years

I don't see how they blew it. They played their tails off.

+1. MB, they probably blew away their bid. I hope not but for some reason 8th and 9th place teams in other conferences deserve a shot over a 2nd place team from another conference. Memphis also has a nice RPI at 15 and are projected as a 7 seed... Southern Miss is 29

I think they had to win, no matter what happened today. They may have earned one today, but the committee is comparing the whole season rather than one game. If they do get in, they probably take MTSU's, who I believe deserves one more.

RE: Memphis - SMiss going to OT
Using Ken Pomeroy ratings, Southern Miss has one top 50 win, Denver. (For the life of me, I don't see how Denver has a KenPom ranking of 37.) They have one 51-100 win over 96th Georgia.

Mid TN has one top 50 win, over 43rd Ole Miss. They have one 51-100 win over 80th Vandy.

That's it. They both could be left out.

Cincinnati came in 9th place in the Big East. According to KenPom data, Cincy had 5 wins over top 50 teams and 4 wins over top 51-100 teams. That's far superior to the resumes of Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee.

You could say Cincy had more opportunities to play top teams. That's precisely why the conference you are in still has importance, at least respect to basketball and getting into the Big Dance.

2005 Memphis vs Louisville was the last great game.

2011 Memphis vs. UTEP was pretty good as well.

I don't get why this is so hard for some people to understand. All we really have on Southern Miss and MTSU is the eye test. I think MTSU deserves a bid ahead of Southern Miss, but neither have a resume that offers much.

The OOC schedule is important.

You can help your OOC schedule, you can't help your in conference schedule.
