RE: CIT
YSU beat Oakland tonight 99-87 at Beeghly Center. YSU will bid again on a second round home game. The administration, fans, and probably the team would love to host Kent State Saturday or Sunday at home. I don't care if it is at YSU or KSU, I would just love to see these two programs go at it again this year.

Beat Fairfield!

If we win this thing, every team from here on will now know we can't handle a press.

It's crazy how we can't bury anyone. All season, if we built a big lead, we would let the opponent back in the game. Glad to have the win and moving on. Another game for the seniors!

RE: CIT
They decided to put on the press and that made us sloppy. Nice job by Holt to step up in the clutch.

We only know how to play nail biters. Do we play any other kind? How many games have come down to the last minute?

RE: CIT
Evans played little in the second half due to a bad ankle (does anybody know if it was bothering him on Friday?). Manley hurt his leg midway through the second half and didn't play the rest of the way. He was limping pretty badly walking around after he left. With the next game coming Friday or Saturday we might be a bit thin.

Nice to see Holt make a game winner. He was on tonight and made a nice drive.

Our defense in the second half fell asleep a few times. On the three to tie the game,
they left their best scorer wide open for a three. I didn't see who let him go but it was symbolic of the second half play.

The press against us was the key in the second half. It took us out of our game. It should be no secret to press us.....we haven't handled it well all year. Still.... glad we won

Talked with Coach Deandre after the game and he said Chris has been nursing the ankle since the Akron tournament game....hurt it in the first half of that game! I don't think Dev's injury is as severe and he banged his knee off the floor and wears those leg sleeves.

Nice minutes by Pope and Thomas on both defense and offense, but there's no way they take up all the slack left by Evans. Ortiz didn't see much action in the second half either, he took one heckuva shot to the groin.

I hope last night is a sign of things to come with Kellon. It looks like the game is finally slowing down for him.

That's what I figured on Evans since I did not see him hurt it last night. Might explain some of his problems against Akron.

If the ankle injury was the week of the MAC Tournament and affected him in the Friday game and last night, how was he able to do what he did against Buffalo on Thursday?

They said the injury was in the first half of the Akron game Friday, after the UB game on Thursday.

Preview of the 2nd round game from the Loyola MD website:
Greyhounds To Host Kent State Sunday In CIT Second Round
Robert Olson knocked down five threes and scored 16 points on Tuesday against Boston University.
March 21, 2013
BALTIMORE - Fresh off its first postseason victory in school Division I history, the Loyola University Maryland men's basketball team will host Kent State University on Sunday, March 24, in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament Second Round in Reitz Arena.

Tickets for the game can be purchased online at LoyolaGreyhounds.com/Tickets or by calling 410-617-1420 .

The Greyhounds (22-11 overall) defeated Boston Unviersity, 70-63, on Tuesday night in the first round after trailing by 15 points in the second half.

Kent State advanced to the second round with a 73-71 victory last night over Fairfield University. Randal Holt, who led the Golden Flashes with 18 points, scored on a driving layup with three seconds remaining to provide the winning margin.

The Golden Flashes finished third in the Mid-American Conference East Division during the regular season and with their win over the Stags, they enter the second round game with a 21-13 overall record.

Sunday will be the teams' third meeting in series history. Loyola and Kent State played a home-and-home series in 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 with the Golden Flashes winning both contests.

BRING ON THE GREYHOUNDS!
