You would think they would have waited until the A-10 tournament was over to leak this stuff out.

Probably true. Most knew it was a matter of when, not if, however.

It's really sad how a schools like Butler and Xavier has leapfrogged the U of M in conference alignment. Butler went from the Horizon to A-10 to Big East all in a 2 year period. But hey, look on the bright side, Memphis is going from Conference USA to the American Conference. SMH

I got some bad news. What I am about to tell you is really going to ruin your pity party. Memphis was offered membership to the Big East and turned it down.

I guess Tommy thinks that playing the likes of Houston, ECU and Tulane is going to improve both sports. Mainly football.

Your post screams "I was wrong, let me find something new to complain about".

Of course, you're welcome to your clueless opinions. Just be aware that you are in a tiny minority if you think sacrificing football to be in a better basketball conference would be a good idea.

That should also be said about the UM football-only lovers. Be careful what you wish for.

So if people don't want to be in a better basketball conference that would destroy football, they're football-only lovers? Oh goodness. I'm going to vacate this thread. I can feel my iq melting away.

You haven't seen the effects that will come from doing that. Recruiting will drop off now that Memphis is stuck in virtually the same conference with the addition of Temple, who, oh by the way, is considering the option of dropping football.

Slippery-slope fallacy. Bye.

I really don't care if people want to throw insults at me or not because I happen to care more about Tiger basketball than football at this point and see what's about to happen to Memphis basketball because of it. So fire away.

Pretty lame to assume things because someone doesn't agree with you. I know for a fact that some boosters are NOT happy with Bowen's decision not to join the C7. But hey, we're a football school. 05-stirthepot

You shouldnt care more about football, you should care about both. I really dont think anyone, even the most diehard football fans like myself put one over the other. I care for my school and its sports teams as a whole. Give c7 10 years. Those small , private non football schools will be mostly nonrelevant to most the sporting world!

Butler will be relevant for as long as Stevens is there and likely after if he ever leaves.
