He is leaving the program, but they did not say that he is leaving school immediately. I bet he still finishes the semester out. I was looking at his Twitter and someone asked him when he will be home, and he said this weekend and then around the end of April/May (which coincides with the end of the semester).

RE: Holliday Leaves Basketball Program
For my money Reese was one of the best rebounders at his height that we have ever had at UT. Certainly a true credit to his own hard work and dedication to our program. One can only hope that things work out for him back home. Have had a ton of folks go through the lockeroom turnstile as of late but he is definitely one you hate to see leave. Not sure how to take all of these folks coming and going. Lets hope that will end now! Not yet willing to put up the caution sign with Coach K but next year will certainly be a crucial point for him. Definitely have a very high expectation for next year. A must year in our MBB program turn-a-round IMO.

RE: Holliday Leaves Basketball Program
Holliday would still have one year of eligibility to play in the next two seasons. If he doesn't finish up this semester, he would probably have to pick up some hours before he could play again. Good luck to him. Coach K didn't say anything about him coming back at some point, so who knows. It seems like these situations usually involve a girl. 03-banghead

Speaking of players leaving, Neil Watson who transferred to S Miss just hit a
buzzer beater to send the game to OT

Good thing we got rid of Watson and Barnett to bring in Holiday, Deer, and several others who didn't stay long enough for me to remember their names. I hope everyone is right about how good we're going to be next year. I assume this is the last year we'll be saying "Wait till next year," but I think I said that last year.

Well this year would have been an even better year if we didn't get screwed by the NCAA and had 3 games taken away, 4(?) hours of practice a week taken away, and were banned from the post season.

I think this year was a lot better despite some shaky recruiting decisions. Next year it's time to put up or shut up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think in all their head coaching years at different schools, TK and TC combined have been in as many NCAA tournaments as Joplin, assuming we don't count the fact that Joplin played in one (and I think actually made a significant contribution in one of the games).

We didn't get rid of Barnett. He left on his own.

You're right! Because of this new-found info, we should fire them instantly because they have a proven track record that they cannot make the NCAA tournament.

Huh? Who said that? Oh, sarcasm, I get it. The facts are what they are though and none of this " I'm a better fan than you cause I love em more than you" BS can change that. I think the person with the best chance to change it is TK next year.

Good luck, Reese. He was far from the most talented guy but not many worked harder.

He was my favorite player the past few seasons for that very reason. Seems like every championship-caliber team has a player like that...will be anxious to see who fills this role in the upcoming season.

RE: Holliday Leaves Basketball Program
I got the impression he was done with basketball, but suddenly he gets the urge to play again. I know he is from Kansas City, but he leaves us before his senior year, a place where he has made a significant contribution and could have helped us this year to move to UMKC? So does he have to sit out this year, or did he graduate and is playing a 5th year somewhere else? I guess I was fine with him leaving and being done with basketball, but he leaves us for a one year shot with UKMC. Nothing like bailing on the team that took a chance on you in the first place. I like the make up of this year's team and heigh-wise I know his minutes would be cut with some of our incoming players, but it would have been nice to have him as a senior and I think he was a fan favorite because of his tough play.

Was told, by very reliable source, that he had family-related issues that he needed to return home to help out with. Can't fault him for that at all, and glad that he can still enjoy playing basketball another year close to home.

Reese is not bailing on the Rockets. He had some personal issues that he had to deal with back home in Kansas City. He didn't leave Toledo because he was done with basketball...he left Toledo because he needed to be in Kansas City with his family. Nothing wrong with playing basketball for his hometown team while he is dealing with his family issues.

RE: Holliday Leaves Basketball Program
I bet that when AT took the job at UMKC, he figured he might as well see if Reese wants to play. And since Reese is at home (or very close to home), he can still take care of any issues he has at home and still play basketball. I bet if AT wasn't there, he probably wouldn't be playing.
