New Gun Recommendations
Wifey is taking me to my favorite gun store tomorrow to order me something for our Anniversary. I already have about everything I want/need.

Any recommendations for a new handgun addition for the gun safe?

Requirements are:

.40 cal (Corp ruined me forever on 9mm when they tried to switch from 45acp)

SA/DA (DAO need not apply)

Grip must fit larger hands.

$750 or lower.

Thanks!

Good luck finding something in stock. The shelves are pretty clean out there as well as the ammo supply. I'm partial to the CZ75 which is now available in .40, list around 800 but generally much cheaper.

RE: New Gun Recommendations
We are ordering if need be. Not in any hurry to take possession.

Don't know much about the CZ's but am researching them today

I have a 229 and PX4 already. Was thinking of checking out the HKs or maybe a Stoerger 8040F. Or XD 40. Shop has a gently uses MP 40 in right now, too. Might even put aside personal prejudice and look at Glocks. This is going to be a flyer purchase. Wifey said I order one tomorrow or she spends the $$ on shoes.

Looks like the XD was preferred.

I'm also considering an XD, looks like a winner also.

I'm looking at it too along with an S&W Shield. Both .40's.

Good luck finding a Shield without paying $600 for it. I have been looking for one in 9mm for 4 months, nobody has them in stock. There are some on Gunbroker, but the prices are ridicilous.

RE: New Gun Recommendations
Rath - if you look at Glocks, the G22 is the full size .40, if you plan on ever using it as a carry gun, look at the G23 instead. They won't win a beauty contest, but they work perfectly out of the box and mags are cheap (at non hysteria prices, anyway).

RE: New Gun Recommendations
The selection of .40s was limited. 9 mm options were fully stocked, though. They did have the XD, though but I have an unreasonable struggle with trigger safeties.

Since my Sig and PX-4 pretty much cover my needs, I opted to spend my anniversary present money on something my wife and sons can use at the farm. Picked up another PX-4 Storm in subcompact 9mm. Might turn into my bow-hunting sidearm when in the woods or the wife's designated shooter.

Saved a bunch, too. Out the door NIB, with case, 2 mags, grip inserts, lock and ffl transfer for under $500.

Anyone needs a good store, check out Triggers in Alexandria. They have a lot of stock - both new and used. Lots of tactical and crazy AR stuff, too. My go to gun store.

I am such a whore...went back to also grab a FN-FNX in .40. Don't know a damn thing about them yet other than its pretty as a prom queen and fits my hand like a glove. Reports from the range to follow next weekend.
