naama will be going to the wnba for sure.

I suspect that Naama will be going home to join the IDF (= army) and probably playing on the Israeli national team. I seriously doubt that the WNBA will be as forthcoming as UT in adapting to the special requirements of her religion.

Refs missed a ton of calls but it appeared to be a consistent effort. Fouls had to be pretty egregious. I'll say they were even-handed but a lot of very obvious contact went unchecked.

No they didn't. I know I'm a ref so I may appear biased but they called an excellent game. A lot of your "missed calls" were good no calls. You have to remember two things (1) these refs are highly qualified to officiate these games and (2) they have a much better angle from 5 feet as opposed to someone 50 feet away in the stands

RE: Central Michigan Vs Lady Rockets
I noticed several times that we had a shot close to the basket - albeit a contested one - and passed the ball instead. We probably should have taken those shots and tried to get the points or maybe tried to draw the foul although it probably wouldn't get called anyway. The officiating was consistent, but bad for MAC basketball. If the girl was driving to the basket and the defender whispered at her, it was a foul. If the offensive player posted on the low block, the defender could have pulled out a butcher knife and stabbed the girl in the neck and they wouldn't have called a foul. I understand the expectation that both players have a right to a position on the floor, but this style favors teams that play zone, so it played to CMU's favor. It wasn't why we lost but once you move outside of MAC play, unless you have officials with the same mentality, you will lose. Maybe the MAC has the most awesome refs in the country, but nobody else calls it the same as we do. I feel that's why MAC teams win very few games outside the league. The officials are not why we lost this game and NOBODY has said it was,but there are a few of us who didn't like the way the game was called.

RE: Central Michigan Vs Lady Rockets
One other comment that I think needs to be made is when you look at a program in total, player development over their career is important. I am not sure how much our players improve from year to year. Inma is the obvious exception but her transformation came away from UT for the most part. I think we need to see our team get better each year. Yolanda for one seemed to plateau early on and not get stronger around the hoop. It would be improtant for our WBB team to make strides each off season and I am not sure that happens for a significant number of them.
All in all a nother enjoyable season, although very frustrating as well. As they say Hope springs eternal!! Go Rockets...

Naama is a 39% shooter. No way would she be drafted. Great at UT, though.

for what its worth, the mockdraft i found has Tecca and Osbourn being drafted and Naama staying home. I would guess Naama wants to go home anyway

i hope she rethinks going into the army.......seriously. way too much talent.

I don't think that it is her choice. As I understand it, Israel requires mandatory military service of all its men and women although there are some exemptions on certain grounds (mental, physical disabilities, etc.) I suspect that she will play for the Israeli National Team and do just fine.

Yeah, I think at the college level you have some players that will develop considerably and some that hit their maximum potential. It is easy to always put things off on player development, but if that were the case everyone would have potential to be the next Michael Jordan. I think that Yolanda actually played better the second half of the season (yesterday excluded) than I've seen her play all of last year.

Nope. Very consistent which is good but they allowed a lot of contact inside. That's a foul ever sinc Dr. Jim hung the peach baskets. Perhaps "chose to not call" would be better. They gave some steps on drives as well.
