if he made it into Davis' doghouse and it was rather hard to get there would he have survived in Haase' system?

I think Haase had the best year for the reasons already mentioned. However, I am more disappointed in the basketball season than I am in the football season. I guess I have higher expectations for basketball. Basketball had its 4th losing season in history, which is still a rarity. Football had just another losing season.

Agree, which is why I quit following him on twitter.

Haase seems to have been more humble.

Who knows?

Remember, he was gone before Haase was hired.

Well, noone said this opinion poll could not end in a tie, so I vote, as far as a new coaches goes, its a tie.
The expectation was overstated by us as fans as to our expectations, I know mines was, anyway, when in reality, we were all hopeful for more wins then the previous season and would take a 500 team, especially in football which amounts to a bowl bid...

Our Basketball team had a losing season, however there is little room for error when you have no proven go to guy...football had Reaves and Hubbard who could dominate their positions, but the point is, as some one made earlier, in Basketball, you can win and dominate with 2-3 very good players, where in football you need dominace by multiple players on both side of the ball.

Next season we may have a better sampling to judge from, and I expect to see improvement from both coaches.

So now, since we are talking about 2 losing seasons for the new hires, I say they both had good and bad wins and losses, and are tied for best first year coach...

All in all, I remain excited about the futureof UAB basketball under Coach Haase. At the very least, I'm convinced nobody will outwork Haase and this young staff.

Yes!04-cheers

I was thinking of a clone somewhere in one of the PDIII/Steve Mitchell/Squeaky/AJ/Eric Bush/Ced Dixon molds.

What does being humble have to do with anything? Which would you prefer a humble loser or proud winner? No, you can't add a humble winner, because most winners are proud whether they say it or not. Some might say things along the lines of; history will dictate my place in ___, I will leave it to others to determine my __. On the surface they both seem like humble statements but both are quite arrogant in nature if you think about them. Besides, sometimes it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way.

I think this was merely an observation.
