I would have thought you'd prefer they leave the same time UL does. It would make for a better hoops schedule next year for your cards.
Unlike the fans of several incoming schools I don't have a defeatest attitude. There's no reason for the basketball schools to stay just for Louisville. We both have no interest in having to play road games in front of 5k people against these incoming teams, and they shouldn't be forced to if there's a way out. I'll miss playing those teams, especially when conference play starts. Maybe they'll let us play all our games at home instead of those half filled gymnasiums.
It would've been nice however if we all could've left this summer. I fear that staying another year in this dreadful conference is detrimental to the program.

So a season in which you have the inside track to an easier than usual BCS autobid with 90% of your team back is detrimental?
I get that it isn't as sexy of a schedule but hoops won't die off due to one lighter year and in football playing UH or UCF is far from some crap setup. Frankly SMU, UH, and UCF are pretty solid on the field compared to Pitt and Syracuse. Last time I saw Pitt vs any of them it was Margus Hunt and SMU sacking Sunseri.
This isn't going to slow momentum in football and frankly with an easily attainable autobid it might boost it. Hoops at UL is strong enough to sustain either way. You were good in CUSA and will be good here.

Well, I think a lot of us hoped to sneak into the BCS NCG when we had Boise and SDSU on the schedule so the "easy path to the BCS" isn't all cool as it sounds. We knew it would be a long shot but its darn near impossible now!

a big part of it is Louisville's OOC schedule-
Ohio, Kentucky, FIU, and Eastern Kentucky.
It would have been impossible even with Boise and SDSU given that OOC schedule.

That's another thing. The OOC originally had UGA instead of EKU but ESPN got them out of that game last year. So this beautiful championship run we were hoping for just took blow after blow over the last couple years.
"Ah man, WVU is gone...well we still have UGA, Boise and Ohio might be Top 25 so we can do it...Oh, UGA is backing out...What's this Boise isn't coming now?...Well, guess we still have Ohio..."

LOL! Every Pitt game for the past few years has featured someone sacking Sunseri.
Over the past three seasons the kid has been sacked an NCAA worst 120 times, including 61 times in 2011 - when Pitt played SMU with three coaches left on the team (the rest had all fled to Arizona State).
That's what happens when a program goes through 47 head coaches in a four year period - it ends up with schitty players trying to constantly learn new systems which results in losses to teams like SMU.
Talk to me in three or four years about how comparable SMU is to Pitt.

Compare it to entering a year early into the ACC where we would have a significantly improved TV payout, better competition, better road destinations, significantly better fanbases, better history, and better TV exposure. Basically everything in the ACC is better than whatever the new conference is going to be called, so being stuck in it a year longer feels like a massive wasted opportunity. Compare Maryland's conference schedule to ours.
@ Florida State, Virginia, @ Wake Forest, Clemson, Syracuse, @ VPI, Boston College, @ NC State
@ Temple, Rutgers, UCF, @ USF, @ UConn, Houston, Memphis, @ Cincinnati
Four good road games vs. four crap road games. Four good home games vs. four crap home games.

All I am saying is that it isn't going to damage your program any to stick around and one year's difference in when you join the ACC isn't going to break you. You were saying it would damage you and I think that is baloney.

It's been 10 years and obviously we are turning things around, we're just insanely young. Just two years ago the Garden was rocking.
Also the BE will be the 6th highest paid conference getting a TON of TV time and give recruits an option of going to a big time conference and NOT being over shadowed by FB.
Memphis just better worry about being in a conference with other teams with a pulse for the first time in almost a decade.

Well their attendance is similar. Kinda surprising seeing as Wake Forest isn't in the middle of a huge city and UC has over 30,000 more students. I've also heard Wake Forest has one of the best tailgating atmospheres in the country. I suppose we Louisville fans will find out for ourselves soon, but not soon enough.
And my post was more in general. I wasn't directly comparing any two schools, I was comparing the schedules as a whole. FSU, VPI, NC State, and Wake Forest is infinitely more interesting than Temple, UConn, USF, and Cincinnati, wouldn't you agree?

And the mystery 10th team is......Dayton!
The A10 will be at 10 members, CAA 10 members, MVC 9 members. A lot of schools will be racing to get into those conferences.

Seeing as how we are looking at between 500-600 mil for 12 years which is between 3.5 and 4 mil per team I dont see how we wouldn't be.
