Supersectional Doubleheader at the Convo tonight
If you want to see the Convo come alive (!) for basketball, there's a Boys 3A-4A Supersectional Doubleheader tonight.

At 6:00 PM, it's Wheaton St. Francis vs. Bartonville Limestone in 3A. At about 8:15, it's Rockford Boylan vs. Stevenson (Lincolnshire) in 4A. $10 gets you in for both games.

My guess is the attendence for tonights games will exceed our MBBall attendence for the entire year combined.

Hopefully we get a cut of the gate.

Hinsdale Central for me...

Rematch of last year's super sect- West Aurora vs. Proviso East. Proviso East an uptempo talented squad vs. a team oriented over-achieving West squad. Great dichotomy...made for a great game last year and hoping for the same this year.

New Trier Simeon at Chicago st...also a dichotomy! That one won't end well for the Trevians though.

Jalen Brunson (Rick Brunson's son) on Stevenson is only a soph and could be up for Mr Basketball already. He's worth the $10 addmision price alone

Ugh. Our Oswego Panthers should be there. Lost a heartbreaker to West Aurora. 03-hissyfit

Even though he had a bad 4th quarter tonight, Brunson is the real deal. Very smooth player, will be a great one in college.

Would have been a good super sect for them to get proviso east for a third time (rubber match). West had the lead at half but proviso's pressure got to them in the third. Although I'm not entirely sure if Oswego would have beaten Benet anyway...their size would have been a matchup nightmare.

RE: Supersectional Doubleheader at the Convo tonight
I was on the floor at OHS when Benet took the court for a game in the Oswego Thanksgiving Tournament - they looked like a damn college team. I think every player was over 6' and several it seemed were 6'5" and up. I think Oswego was looking forward to the rubber match game with Proviso and might have got caught looking past West Aurora. It's too bad, I think Oswego had a good chance to make it back to state this year.

I watched the Proviso game on the High School Cube. That 20-2 run (I believe) in the 3rd quarter did in West Aurora. For a while, it was looking like they would pull the upset. The Proviso East-Simeon game in the semis should be something else.

I should have gone to the game. I haven't seen basketball played at the Convo for several years now.
