It'll be interesting to see who comes back.
I expect little to no growth next year. We had an entire season and regressed. Bolin was worse this year than last. Growth? I think not. Not as long as the current group is returning. To expect different results next year with basically the same players, same coaches, and same offensive scheme is foolish.
Our only hope to be merely bad next year is the addition of Rakocevic, Highsmith, and some stiff to replace Nader (hopefully a JUCO). But the jury is out on all 3 - we don't know what we're getting. We recruited our current players because I'm sure they were able to put the ball through the hoop in high school. Look at what happened. Missing layups and free throws - actually all shots - with the consistency we have is inexcusable.
I and my wife and friends will not sit through another season of torture like this. I would rather go to the endodontist and have root canals with no anesthethic. That would be less torture. If we feel like we want to make the trips to DeKalb, we'll go to women's gymnastics and volleyball.

I think that is one route that has to be gone down now at this point. Can't replace Nader with someone that has no college experience and expect growth right away.

He also said all the guys are playing for name on front of jersey not the back. I felt he was talking about Nader. They have 2 schollys besides Highsmith and Pete. Team must get stronger. They will be a better offensive team, next year. He said there is two guys they have been recruiting all year. Bottom line is they lost again, but I believe the guys will go into off-season feeling better about themselves. Confidence is the key for most athletes and a little goes along way. Monty also said Pete has been working hard and we must win in year 3. They lost 11 games by 10 or less. They must win those games next year!
I'm confused. Which one of the following 13 does not have a scholly: Baker, Balls, Bolin, Bowie, Christian, Cravetta, Davis, Gray, Gray, Mader, Nader, Nixon, and Rakovic. I thought I read Cravetta got Ford's scholly.
With Nader, Springs and Nixon leaving that leaves two openings with Highsmith coming in next year, but I don't know who currently does not have one to make 13.
an exercise for someone who has time is to look back to Juds first year to the present and determine how many recruits came in and played 4 years and graduated vs the number who came in and left.

Alright guys, DogFan is out, so that's another scholarship NIU has freed up.

Nope. Sorry! I paid my own way. I did not want to use a valuable scholarship for fans to see my corpulent body dribbling and shooting all over the floor. (However, you can see a 10-minute video clip of it for $5 at the Grotto.)

It's often said things must hit rock bottom before it begins to get any better....there are no more rocks left to hit.
I do expect some slight improvement record wise next season.... but not so sure any of the returning players can shoot the ball any better... I give them kudos for effort, playing hard & improved D.
This aint rocket science but : If you cannot put the ball into the hole consistently from inside and outside , you will most always suk.

Wanna bet? There's always the goal of scoring 3 (or fewer) points in a half!
