Lady Trojans
The way I see it, anyone who enjoys BB the way it should be played has got to appreciate Joe Foley and the Lady Trojans. I have never understood why our fans do not show support for Foley's team. I was there yesterday watching the 2nd half of the WKU-ULL ladies game. I thought the Hilltoppers might have received slight benefit of officiating to beat ULL in closing minutes of the game. So, I really expected the Trojans to win today's semi-final game. Sure would like to be there tomorrow but can't make in person. On the men's side, I have heard it said it is difficult if not impossible to recruit outstanding players to LR. Question. How does Joe Foley do it?? Is there a difference recruiting men and women? If so, what is it??

I can't explain it, but some coaches are great, some are mediocre, and some are bad. I think it's entirely possible to be in the bad category, but know as much basketball as one in the great category. There is something about a great coach in many cases that supersedes X's and O's. Foley has that something I suspect. Yes I believe it is harder to recruit to LR than to Western or Middle, or even ASU. Some of it is tradition and some little bit might even be because we don't have football and isn't considered a "real college". The dorm situation is beginning to help correct part of the situation. If Foley could bet a big strong(6'4"or 6'5" that can play), he might someday be in the Hall of Fame.

Some coaches know the game, but can't teach it. Foley obviously can teach it, most of his players get better the longer they play for him.

Being the pessimist that I am, when we went into that 6 out 7 losing funk, I said we'd never win 20 games this year. Shows how much I know.

Foley's teams peek at the right time. I think the one thing Coach Foley has is that you can tell he is confident with his coaching during practice. He let's the team relax during warmups. He only gets up when he needs to get up. He chews players out during timeouts or between possessions and not while they are playing on the court.

No doubt Foley is a good coach but I believe part of the problem with fans not supporting him is it's not fun to watch. He's all about defense and it may be where you win Championships but offense puts butts in the stands.
