Could the next basketball coach come from our backyard?
CNU vs. VWC tonight in the NCAA D3 tournament tonight.
I have always been a fan of Dave Macedo from what he has done at VWC. I heard a story of him sanding and repainting the basketball court there to save cost. He has almost has 300 wins and is always in the tournament.
Then there is CNU John Krikorian who is 41-14.
I could see Macedo and Corrigan working together.

Not unless Wood Selig wants angry fans/season ticket holders calling for his job.
We're ODU we should be a top 50 program with the type of facilities/resources and location we have and I would hope D3 or high school coaches aren't seriously being considered by the selection committee.

Hell no. A d3 coach???? What are we W&M?? We can get a solid d1 coach, we are high enough up the food chain....that would be a terrible decision, no chance.

Crazier things have happen, we hire a head football coach that was never on the radar of any of us and he is a hit. Remind you he had no head coach exp. or even the know how to start a program. Look where we are today with him (soon to be FBS)!
Don Haskins was a high school coach, he won the National Championship after his 4th recruiting class.

That would guarantee that I don't purchase season tickets next season if we hire a D3 coach.

The equivalent coaching position to where Wilder was at Maine is like a assistant coach at like Vermont, not a D3 head coach.

Fcs Football is entirely different than mid major or slightly above d1 basketball. Comparing the two is silly and suggesting a program of ODU's stature hire an unproven d3 coach to a big contract is absurd.
Is rather hire Rhoades, yeah, he was a d3 coach too, but he's proven himself as a top assistant and recruiter at the d1 level. Macedo has done a very good job at vwc, but I would not hand him the keys to our program without having him ever coached as an assistant or head coach at the d1 level.
