This was long rumored to be coming. The Big 12 wanted a Florida bowl.

So I am not getting a postcard from MSG. I am not getting a postcard from the Champs Bowl. Worst day ever!

They didnt add CUSA either.

Bowls will roll up hill in the pecking order. The BE will lose 2 or 3 of its best, and cherry pick a few from below. Cusa will lose Liberty, It's going to suck but in the end the Big 5 need to add a few bowls for the schools added, and they will come from below.

Losing the Liberty Bowl is no big deal in the bigger picture. But unlike realignment, the chit just isn't going to roll down hill. If you're not in Big 5 conferences, you're going to play in chitty bowl games for the most part. But the New Orleans Bowl will start to look pretty sweet to a conference like the A-12.

maybe the NO Bowl will drop Sun Belt and go with A12 vs CUSA

B12 may add Champs, but the title is incorrect. Article says they are discussing adding the B12.

With the pot of gold awaiting A12 schools, do they even need bowl games?

isn't college football wonderful these days? I can remember when you didn't have names like godaddy.com bowl, champs bowl, etc. but had names like the gator bowl, tangerine bowl, cigar bowl (yes in Havana Cuba) and other names like that. Didn't even have the corporate sponsor mentioned in the name, and the teams that played in them weren't conference tied. Of course there wasn't so many and so any team that went to a bowl accomplished something tough. Oh well, maybe Walmart will buy USM and we can then join the Haliburton SEC.

I was thinking along those lines last bowl season. The game in Vegas started as the Las Vegas bowl. Then it became the Las Vegas Bowl presented by Maaco. Then last year it became the Maaco Bowl in Las Vegas.

Well, its not officially gone yet--but it may as well be.

This is what happens when you add a bunch of schools that outside of ECU don't traditionally travel well to bowl games. That's a problem for all gang of 5 leagues though not just the Big Whatever.

There also were not the payouts in those games that we have now. If things were still as they were, most years our Champion would be without a bowl. I miss the old days too, but its a trade off, and it works out much better for programs like ours.
