P.S. I have to begrudgingly give OSU some props..I am pretty sure of all the those B10 schools they have the worst record vs. Miami all time in hockey.

Actually, I think ND has the worst record agaisnt Miami. We have pretty much dominated that series for a long time.

We have a discussion going on our board regarding this weekend's series.

For BG, WMU, Miami, Ferris St., etc. - don't expect many favorable calls this weekend. I suspect that many (esp. media) would prefer to see UM, ND, MSU and OSU advance to Joe Louis Arena after this weekend.

While Miami will be safe for the NCAA tournament and doesn't need a great tournament, WMU and BG need to play well to advance. WMU likely needs to win vs. Michigan this weekend to make sure they qualify for the NCAA. I want it for a different, selfish reason - it would mark three straight years that the Broncos had eliminated Michigan in the CCHA Tournament. It would be sweet to send them packing yet again.

I think it would be awesome to see all 3 MAC teams at the Joe again. The only way that happens is if BG upsets #2 seed Notre Dame.

With reseeding, that would mean a semi-final of (new) #2 WMU vs BG and the other semi would be #1 seed Miami vs the winner of #4 OSU/#5 Ferris St.

Should that happen, the likely winner of the final CCHA tournament will be a MAC school.

Michigan has a very long streak of NCAA appearances. I think nothing would be sweeter for Western than to end that streak for the Wolverines while at the same time extending their own streak to 3 years. However, word of caution, 3 years ago Michigan had a horrible season just like this one, was seeded very low, then went out and won two road series and the CCHA finals at the Joe to get the auto bid (the only way they could have gotten in) and make it to the Regional finals where Miami beat them in double OT. They seem to suddenly have found themselves the last few weeks, this is going to be a very serious struggle of two powerful teams fighting for an NCAA appearance.

It'll be a battle that's for sure. Our beat writer seems to think we are in regardless but I'm not sure I believe that. Can't wait for Friday.
