Wondering now if the A10 will have a problen with this name. The Atlantic 10 vs the American 12 is different but when ppl refer to the a10 or a12 its just enough alike to be a problem. If USM'S Eagle head is too much like Iowa's hawkeye this a12/a10 will be an issue.

I'm with you here. I'll fully support it, but it's too similar to the A-10 and C-USA. We needed something to give us a unique identity, not make us look like we copied C-USA name or added two schools to the A-10.

How many members does C-ECU even have? Arrrrr they even at twelve yet? As Tom Benson would say, "I think ya gettin' a lil' bit ahead of yaself there."
B1G doesn't have 10 memebers.. BigXII doesn't have 12 members. ..so your point?
However with the addition of Tulsa soon to come, and Navy (who i doubt comes) that'd be 12.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure the Big 10 started with 10, the Big 8 with 8, etc. This is somewhat different.
I think Marshall and USM are both in front of Tulsa. Tulsa's president was seen making eyes at SMU and everyone's "scoop" the next day was Tulsa going to C-ECU.It could happen, but it doesn't help them keep Navy, and it's one of those things I'll have to see to believe. I mean no disrespect to Tulsa, I just don't think they're necessarily the next piece in this particular puzzle.

I think Tulsa is easly the next in line. Their b-ball program, once they got rid of their prior moronic coach, is on the rise I feel. Their football program had a heck of a season last year and is consistantly good. Plus their market, which has been something the new conference has seen as a big factor is a good market. Adds a more western school for the texas teams to balance east and west a bit more.
I agree I dont' think Navy ever joins. I would assume in the next year, after Tulsa is added, you will hear about Navy's decision not to join, then USM or UMass (i pray its not umass) is added. USM's biggest downfall is their market. If USM had a bigger market, they'd of been added prior to a majority of the schools that were added IMHO
Adluther, it will be interesting to see. Tulsa does have market size, and they seem to have good academics, too. The one thing I always wonder about, and almost never see discussed, is number of living alumni. I think that number, and alumni contributions, are the big hidden factors in all of this, and I wonder how a school of ~5,000 students can compete.

then you should be stalking and killing as many TU alumni as you can find.
it's never discussed because it's a little creepy.

If Big 10 and Big 12 (and whatever they are called these days) worked, then A10 A12 won't be an issue.
