Best tv of the day. The senate should have never started the "phone-in filibuster". Go Rand & Ted!

Not me. Just look at how much the Progs have changed on this board. Since he was elected, the debt doesn't matter, we don't need to see flag-draped caskets, there is no daily body count, the unemployment rate doesn't matter, the deficit doesn't matter, drones on American soil don't matter, killing without due process doesn't matter, militarizing our streets doesn't matter, nothing seems to matter to them anymore. Well, other than there's a "D" in office.

You left out many things, including something as simple as protecting our country from foreign invasion like has happened over the last several years.

Ok, this is cheating now. Lee's been talking too long. I guess this means the pizza got there.

This is exactly the value in this action. It's amazing the number of otherwise well educated, intelligent people you can encounter on a daily basis (many of them socially for me) that have their head completely in the sand. I think a lot of them grew very weary of all of this stuff during the extended Iraq and Afghan wars and I kinda get that.

Now they'd like to simply put their faith in Dear Leader and hope they can trust him because he reads a good speech. I'd like to think exposing issues like this will get some of them off the sideline again, but that might be a little too optimistic.

This!! All this!!
Reading "Atlas Shrugged" would be great!!!!!

Hilarious listening to TYT go all the way back to the Magna Carta to rail on Obama.

Don't often agree with their politics but I went from kindergarten through high school with the Paul family and they are one of the nicest families you will meet.

He's got a nearly endless list of articles and studies from EFF, Reason, Cato, etc. that he can rifle through.

I like to picture these other supporting Senators napping in a nearby room, waiting on a shoulder tap letting them know it's their turn to go ask Paul a 10 min. question or two.

I also like that this didn't seem to be planned. The other guys just agreed with what he was saying and felt strongly enough to stick around and help him out. I'd guess we're around 10-15 supporting Senators that have asked him a "question".

That's over 10% of the Senate that's willing to stand up for civil liberties and the Constitution.

I wonder who else would benefit from usurping the constitution this time. There has to be somebody outside of government that is begging for this.

RE: Rand Paul filibustering Obama appointments
I thought that Barrasso's late appearance was just a sign of opportunism (ooh, twitter really likes this, I should jump in) but then I saw that he also voted against indefinite detention.

Senators that I can remember: Paul, Lee, Cruz, Moran, Chambliss, Toomey, Wyden, Barrasso, Cornyn, and Rubio (this of course does not include Reid and Durbin who have participated, but not in a good way).

*** ETA: Thune from South Dakota late to the party. And McConnell too - but I think he's actually confused by what's going on and not restating things to take up time. Johnson from Wisconsin waited until Thursday, but he showed up.

I used to hope for a Max Cleland filibuster. Since you can't sit down etc. he'd already have it made.
